00:00You have to think how many love songs I've written about this girl, you know?
00:03I got a certain point she's like, all right, dude, I get it.
00:17Hey, it's Alex Warren, and you're watching Billboard News.
00:25I'm Melinda Newman with Billboard News, and we're here with Alex Warren.
00:29Hey.
00:29Who's got a new album coming out.
00:31Yeah, I do.
00:31It's been a while since I've seen you, and you were just telling us, you were surfing this morning.
00:36I was.
00:36So life is good.
00:37It is, honestly.
00:38I've been surfing every day since I've been here.
00:40I love being in California because all I do is surf and eat burritos.
00:44I wish I was like a cool partier showing up to all the celebrity hangouts.
00:49I literally fuck off and go surf.
00:52I think you're making the right choice.
00:54Yeah.
00:54In addition to the surfing, you've had a really unbelievable year.
00:58This time, last year, you were riding the wave of your Hot 100 smash, Ordinary, and now
01:06you're about to release your second album.
01:08Have you had a minute to stop and process everything that's happened to you in the past year?
01:13Here and there, I've gotten really great moments.
01:15I, you know, thankfully, and not so thankfully, I'm surrounded by people at all times.
01:20So it's like definitely amazing.
01:22But the few times I get by myself, I go on like a little walk, and I have a lot
01:26of recollection of just like the whole entire year.
01:28And so it's been really nice.
01:29This morning, I filmed like a whole video for my future self, and I do that a lot.
01:32Wait.
01:33And so what did you tell your future self this morning?
01:35That's for me.
01:36Okay.
01:37You don't want to share it all?
01:38I made a video for my kids this morning, and I don't know why.
01:41I like making videos for my kids and my future self, and I just like start filming them.
01:44And I was really just happy with where I am in my life right now, which is like weird to
01:49say out loud.
01:50Like everyone's usually kind of like, all right.
01:51But like, no, I just like made a whole video where I was like, I hope, I hope I'm a
01:55cool dad and all these different things.
01:57It was fun.
01:57Now, did you kind of take that from your own father who left you videos?
02:01My gosh, yes.
02:02I love those videos so much, and it's inspiring to me all the time.
02:06And so whenever I have the opportunity to hopefully make a video for my future kids, it's going to be
02:11cool.
02:12That kind of leads us right into Wild Child.
02:14Yeah.
02:14Which it's called Wild Child because your dad used to call you Wild Child.
02:18Yeah.
02:18And he also left you videos before he passed where he calls you Wild Child.
02:24Yeah.
02:24So when you started to make this album, were you thinking, okay, the first album, people were getting to know
02:31me.
02:31The second album, they're going to get to know my parents, both of who have passed, and our relationship.
02:37I think that that's a part of what inspired me to make the album.
02:40I think with this one specifically, this album's heavily inspired by my live shows, funny enough.
02:44Whenever I play a show, it's very fun and people dance, and then all of a sudden they cry, and
02:49then they laugh.
02:51And for me, I loved that whiplash of emotions every few minutes.
02:55And when you listen to this album, I feel like it's a piece of work that has such continuity.
03:02You're going to listen to the first song and the second song, and they're going to be sonically so different,
03:05and they're going to be so different what I'm talking about.
03:08But you're going to feel like it's still a story that you can pay attention to, and I like that.
03:12I think that's something that really struck me were the dynamics on this album, that the songs musically sound very
03:21different.
03:27From Wild Child sounds very different from Same Stars.
03:32Were you intentional about that, that you were like, sonically, I really want to explore some different areas?
03:38I wish I could tell you that I was intentionally like, I want to be different.
03:43I write with the same people all the time.
03:44So when we went into the studio to make this album, we were really just kind of focusing on what
03:50did we want to say?
03:52And before, it was like, oh, that doesn't sound like an Alex Warren song.
03:55And now we're kind of like, what the fuck is an Alex Warren song?
03:58And so we've just been making fun songs, stuff that like, I've always wanted to have a song where I
04:02bought my head to it.
04:03Or like, I got asked to play a halftime show, and I had to pass because I was like, what
04:06am I going to make people cry for 30 minutes?
04:08You know, and like, so I really, I really want to have songs I can play at halftime shows.
04:12I want to have songs that I can play at a festival.
04:14And it doesn't always have to be just like sad, dead people music.
04:18So wait, so were you really thinking about, okay, football season's coming up.
04:23Yeah.
04:23Let's think about if we could do a halftime show.
04:26Were you really thinking that as you guys were writing these songs?
04:29Yes, 100%.
04:30While we were writing these songs, I was thinking a lot about it.
04:33Wow.
04:34Well, I want to name check these people.
04:35Okay.
04:36So Adam Yeren, Cal Shapiro, and Mags Duvall.
04:39Yeah.
04:40How has y'all's relationship changed from the first album to the second album?
04:44Wow.
04:45I think that when we did the first album, we felt like we were, I think we were trying to
04:50figure out what we wanted to say.
04:51You know, they've had such healthy careers in music and I was just starting off.
04:55And I think that that dynamic was very much like, okay, you've been through a lot, obviously.
05:00And I want to make music and I make this certain type of music.
05:03But like, what's the cohesiveness?
05:05I've never made an album before.
05:06I've always just done singles my entire life.
05:08When it came down to building the album, that was that relationship of just like, it was very work, but
05:12also we had so much fun.
05:13And now it's like, we go and hang out all the time.
05:16Mags is getting married and we have our wedding coming up.
05:19And it's cool how something that started as a job turned into what I would like to say is my
05:23best friends.
05:24You know, and I really appreciate everything they do and who they are.
05:27And we spend a lot of time together.
05:29You and I have talked about this.
05:30You didn't feel any pressure going into this album.
05:33Most people would feel amazing pressure having had, I think it was 10 weeks at number one with Ordinary, something
05:40like that.
05:41You didn't feel any pressure to follow it up.
05:43It was more like, wow, I've kind of hit my dinger, my ringer, and I can now do whatever I
05:49want.
05:49I never thought I'd have one.
05:51So the fact that I have it and it's something as big as Ordinary, it's really nice because now it's
05:56nice and bad.
05:56Anything I do that might be really cool feels very undervalued because it's like it's not an Ordinary.
06:03But it's also amazing because I never thought I'd have it.
06:07So like, how would getting a second one ever be possible, you know?
06:13That's interesting, though, that you're like, it's undervalued because the scorekeepers are looking at it and going, oh, it didn't
06:19spend 10 weeks at number one.
06:21Yeah, I think that Ordinary was so big to so many people that when I have a record,
06:25I will never have a record as big as Ordinary.
06:27Statistically, it's impossible.
06:29So like, the fact is, you have to think how big Ordinary is and was.
06:33And so now whenever I have a song, it's doing really, really well.
06:36And I was like, this is amazing.
06:37I'm like, oh, my God, this is awesome.
06:38People are like, it's not Ordinary.
06:39And I'm like, yeah, no way.
06:43You created a horrible benchmark, a wonderful and horrible benchmark for yourself.
06:48I know, but that's okay, too.
06:49I don't mind at all.
06:51One of the songs that really struck me is Same Stars.
06:55Yeah.
06:56And it's about looking out at the same stars at the sky that your dad or your mom saw before
07:02they died.
07:03And you're looking at the same stars, but they're not here anymore.
07:07It's a really beautifully orchestrated song with strings.
07:10What was it like writing that one?
07:12Were you crying in the studio?
07:13I was crying when I listened to it.
07:15I cry all the time.
07:17I think that Same Stars, I Miss You More, if you listen to I Miss You More, that record, I'm
07:23crying while I'm singing.
07:24Same Stars is just one of those songs that to me, I'm like, when I wrote it, have you ever
07:29lost someone?
07:30I forget, we've talked about this, right?
07:31Have you ever lost someone close to you?
07:34Both of my parents are gone, too.
07:35So anything that you went and did, do you have any traditions you did with your family?
07:39Yeah, and they're gone.
07:40Right, but that place is still the same.
07:42And I think that's really difficult for me, at least, is like, you know, we used to look up at
07:46the stars and be like, that's the this and that's the that.
07:49And the next day I did that and nothing had changed out there, but my whole life had changed.
07:53And I thought that was a really interesting perspective that no one talked about.
07:56And it was terrifyingly sad.
07:58And, yeah, I don't know, I think when I write sad songs, I cry and I try to get over
08:02it and it's very healthy, I think.
08:05I think it's very cathartic.
08:06Right.
08:07You brought up that you wanted this album to give you emotional whiplash.
08:11Yes.
08:11So talk a little bit more about the feelings you were going through.
08:14And was there anything when you, the four of you, were writing that you were like, that's actually too sad
08:19for us to put it on here?
08:20Never too sad.
08:21I think we teeter against just kind of abrasiveness.
08:24Like, you don't want it to be jarring.
08:25And I think when we write lyrics, how in detail do you want to be, you know?
08:31Just about my story in general.
08:33Like, I like kind of beating around the bush in a way where you're, you know my story, or if
08:36you don't, you at least can infer to it.
08:39And sometimes we'll write a verse and we're like, oh, God, yeah, that's not, no one's going to want to
08:46listen to that, you know?
08:48And so it happens a lot funny enough.
08:49But, no, I think in this album specifically, there's nothing, I think everything is so tastefully done.
08:54Like, I really do, I think a lot of artists will sit here and be like, oh, I don't listen
08:58to my music.
08:59I hate, I love my music.
09:01I'm obsessed with my music.
09:03I listen to it all the time.
09:04And whenever I hop in the car, I listen to it.
09:06I can't.
09:07I'm proud of it.
09:07But I was about to say, I would think you're proud of what you've created.
09:10I think artists just like to sound cool.
09:12They're like, oh, I don't care.
09:13And then they do care.
09:15But you have kind of proudly declared that you don't care about being cool.
09:20Yeah.
09:21You know, and I think there's some freedom in that.
09:23Do you find freedom in that, that you don't have to be the hip kid when you walk into the
09:26room?
09:27Oh, it would be nice to be the hip kid, but I just, I don't know.
09:30I think that at the end of the day, my music is more meant to help me and also help
09:35a lot
09:36of people who've gone through what I've gone through.
09:38And I feel like whether you're falling in love or you lost someone, that's, that's what
09:42matters more than me walking in a room and being a cool kid.
09:45Yeah.
09:45I mean, I want to follow up on that a little bit.
09:47You know, you, you do write a lot about loss and grief.
09:50You lost your dad when you were nine.
09:51You lost your mom when you were 19 or 20?
09:5421.
09:5421.
09:5521.
09:56Now that you're performing these songs in front of the whole world, do they hit you
10:02differently at all?
10:03I think that-
10:04Especially when you're seeing the reaction, you know, from the fans?
10:06Yeah.
10:07There's a segment during my show where it cuts back to a clip of my dad.
10:11And just depending on how bad of a day I've had or a great day I've had, like if I'm
10:15having
10:15an amazing day and it's something I wish I could have like called him about and like
10:19told him about it or something that reminded me of my mom.
10:23And these clips go on the screen, I think it makes me think a little more and I tend to
10:28cry on stage.
10:29But is that because you're looking out and you're seeing other people crying too?
10:33No.
10:33Okay, it's because you're thinking-
10:35Yeah.
10:36Yeah, you're having like a-
10:37If they're not crying, I start to cry probably.
10:39Well then that's-
10:40Because I'm sad they're not crying.
10:41It's like, what am I doing wrong?
10:43How can- what kind of monsters are you that you're not crying at this?
10:46What am I fucking up?
10:48We've already heard Fever Dream.
10:50Yeah.
10:50Which is a bop.
10:54Passenger, which is also very fun.
10:56I'm a ride-drive from the passenger side.
10:59I'm loading on tight to a telephone line.
11:02And Find Place to Die.
11:04But here in your arms, seems like a fine place to die.
11:09Which is about your wife and it's just so romantic.
11:13What did she say when she heard Find Place to Die?
11:18It's about, you're happy if you die with her.
11:20It's so funny because my wife isn't very expressionist when it comes down to these songs.
11:25I'll play those songs and she goes, that's so good.
11:27And I'm like, oh yeah.
11:28And she goes, nice.
11:30Like it's great.
11:31Like she's just, you have to think how many love songs I've written about this girl.
11:35You know?
11:36Like at a certain point she's like, all right, dude.
11:38I get it.
11:40You like me.
11:41You really like me.
11:42She's like, I'm starting to think you like me.
11:44But no, yeah.
11:45My love language is writing songs and she's like, I just want to be held, bro.
11:49So that's like, that's where we're at.
11:50But same with Rescuer.
11:57I mean, can we talk a little bit more about Rescuer?
11:59That's her favorite song.
12:00Okay.
12:01So she, because that really is, you're living in your car.
12:04Yeah.
12:04You need her.
12:05She heard it and she called me.
12:06So I sent it to her and she played it in the car.
12:08She calls me right after and she goes, bro, that is the best song I've ever heard of yours.
12:12And I was like, all right.
12:13She really calls you bro?
12:14Yeah.
12:15Yeah.
12:16Yeah.
12:16I call her dude.
12:18She'll be like, bro.
12:19And I'm like, yeah.
12:21We're best friends.
12:23Like, it's like, that's like the thing.
12:24Yes, we are wife and husband, but like that dude, that girl's, no, I said that dude.
12:29That dude's my best friend.
12:30That dude's your best friend.
12:31There's an interlude in here right in the middle of the album that's your father's voice
12:35through various holidays as well as just talking to you and cheering you on.
12:39Yeah.
12:40What do you think when you listen to that?
12:43There was a video of me crying when I first heard it because I didn't know they were doing
12:46that.
12:46So I asked for an interlude and I went on tour and I was like, we'll figure it out later.
12:50And I was halfway through tour and I got a text saying, sit down when you listen to this.
12:54And so they filmed it and I listened to it for the first time and I just, I bawled, the
13:01person next to me bawled, the person filming was bawling and it was annoying because then
13:04you couldn't hear me talking because he was crying so much and sniffling.
13:08It was just like one of those things where like we heard it and it was just a moment where
13:11all of us and I just started talking about my dad for like an hour and it was really
13:14cool.
13:15It's really beautiful because you can hear how proud your dad is of you and how much
13:20joy he's taking in you.
13:22Yeah.
13:23I could, I could jump off that little step right there and he would have thought that
13:26was cool seeing the world.
13:28Oh, and you've got that.
13:29So much I want to say ever since you've been away and I don't want to skip apart.
13:35When you have a child yourself, you're already making messages for your child.
13:39Yeah.
13:40How do you think this will make you a different parent having lost your parents so early?
13:44Most of my life I was scared.
13:46Like I thought that because I didn't have a parental figure to teach me what it was like
13:52to be a man or what it was like to be a son or, you know, I just, I feel
13:57like I wouldn't
13:58be a proper dad.
13:59You know, how was I supposed to know what a put together household was if I didn't come
14:02from one, you know?
14:03And I don't know.
14:05I think that's allowed me to be able to, well, I'm looking at a different lens now and
14:08as I think about having a kid and my wife and I get closer to that, it's really, really
14:13awesome to think that I'm able to provide a child a life that I didn't get to have.
14:17I think my whole entire life I've been built to have kids and to be a father, like put
14:22your career aside, what I want to be known for as being the best dad ever.
14:25And yeah, because of that, I want to, I battle with this a lot.
14:30I'm letting you in a little bit.
14:31I like always, I'm like, do I, do I, do I, everything they want?
14:35Because I'm going to be one of those people where if I have a daughter and she says,
14:37dad, can I, I'm going to say yes.
14:38So like I got to figure out how to not give them everything, but as long as I love them
14:43and support them, I think I'll do great.
14:45Exactly.
14:45That's all I needed.
14:46Yeah, and that's, that's all they need.
14:48I want to lighten up a little bit in that you have the best announcements.
14:54You know, like Jennifer Aniston.
14:56Yeah.
14:57What's your tour announcement?
14:58Yeah.
14:58Your Honor.
14:59You're late.
15:00I know, I'm sorry.
15:00I was on tour.
15:01I don't care.
15:02Okay.
15:02Kevin James is your album announcement and it is hilarious.
15:06Love it.
15:07We are so excited to have you.
15:10It's amazing, right?
15:10Not every day you get to announce your new album.
15:13Wild.
15:13Is this going to be safe?
15:14You're fine.
15:15You're fine.
15:15Yeah, everything's everything.
15:16But how does that even come about?
15:18Like, are you friends with these people now?
15:20Are you just reaching out?
15:21Are you texting Kevin James?
15:22I text Kevin a lot.
15:24Yeah, I text Kevin a lot.
15:24How did you meet?
15:25How did I meet Kev?
15:26I don't even know.
15:28I have no idea.
15:29I literally, Jen, I met Jen from a random FaceTime with her and Courtney and I answered the FaceTime
15:37and it was Jen and Court and I was like, oh, hi.
15:41I was laying on my couch in my living room and my wife's like, who's that?
15:44And I go, oh, nothing, just some friends.
15:47But I'm bummed.
15:48Yeah, she liked that.
15:49She was really confused and then I showed her the screen.
15:51She goes, oh, fuck.
15:52And then Kev, we got put in contact.
15:55I've always been a huge fan and I've been very vocal about that.
15:58And he, and I just hit it off really well and here we are now.
16:03Did you come up with the...
16:06Max Greenfield was also in the one with Jennifer Aniston.
16:08He was.
16:08Yes.
16:09That's right.
16:09And Max is a sweetheart.
16:10He's someone I speak to quite often.
16:13Did you, I think you came up with the concept for the Jennifer Aniston one, right?
16:18I wrote the script.
16:18And then what about for Kevin James?
16:20I did the shot list and I directed it.
16:21Kevin James one I did with my friend Mike.
16:23Okay.
16:23Yeah.
16:24But they're your thing.
16:26Typically, yeah.
16:26So what about acting ambitions for you?
16:29Or is it directing ambitions?
16:30Oh, I don't think I could direct.
16:32I would love to act.
16:33I don't know how good I am at it.
16:35I just have a blast.
16:36Whenever we do acting stuff, I don't even think I'm good.
16:39I literally just, it's the funnest time of my life.
16:42Every time we do something where it requires me to be someone else or act a certain way,
16:47I, like music videos are the best time because I get to pretend I'm someone I'm not.
16:51And acting is just glorified playing pretend in a way.
16:54And I really like a lot.
16:56I do like a lot of, well, I did the Grinch and that's really fun.
16:59I'm a really good Grinch.
17:01I don't know.
17:02I just, I feel like it's just something I thoroughly enjoy.
17:05Whether or not I'll ever do it as a career, that's something.
17:07But I would love to be able to do it as an opportunity.
17:09The Grinch will come in handy when you have kids.
17:11That would be awesome.
17:12You're no stranger to some amazing collaborations.
17:14You've worked with Jelly Roll, Rosé, Luke Combs on this album.
17:19Joe Jonas.
17:20Joe Jonas.
17:20Yes, right, right, right.
17:27Love me some Joe.
17:29On this album, you have the legendary Niall Rogers on the opening track in Emerald Eyes.
17:35How did that come about?
17:36Niall, I actually don't know.
17:39I got a random, I was on tour and I got a random picture of Niall Rogers with a guitar
17:43and I said, that's nice.
17:44And then they go, yeah, he's on Emerald Eyes.
17:46I go, what?
17:47And they sent me, they sent me it.
17:49And I go, when, how?
17:51What the heck?
17:53And now I'm friends with Niall Rogers.
17:55I don't, that, like, that's, that's the coolest part of my job.
17:57And like the one, like, pinch me moment is I randomly get random texts or random calls
18:00from people that I grew up, like, listening to.
18:03And I'm like, oh, cool.
18:04If I DM someone, they answer.
18:05It's the best thing in the world.
18:08That and, like, dinner reservations are so fun.
18:10So there's no restaurant you can't get into now, right?
18:13No, I get pushed away a lot, actually.
18:15Really?
18:15Yeah, it's just kind of fun.
18:17Wait, what do you mean?
18:17That's not fun.
18:18You do not seem like the type that would ever say, don't you know who I am.
18:23I would never.
18:23Oh, my God.
18:24I would hope someone punched me if I ever said that.
18:26I would hope someone, if I said, do you know who I am, and I hope they would say yes
18:30and I don't care.
18:31That would be awesome.
18:32Yeah, you deserve to be punched.
18:33Anyone deserves to be punched who says that.
18:35Oh, my God.
18:35So Niall opens the album, and John Mayer closes the album on the title track.
18:42Yeah.
18:42That's really not just for you, but it's for your dad.
18:46So it's only for my dad.
18:47It's not for me.
18:48Okay, can you talk about that?
18:49Yeah, I wrote a song from my dad's perspective.
18:52Growing up, especially, I felt like I always wanted my dad's approval, even though I never
18:56knew him.
18:57And he's the one who got me into music, and when my dad passed away, the music stopped.
19:00And as time went on, I constantly wanted to do it, and I got pushed away, whether it
19:04was my mom or a choir teacher or people saying that I wasn't good enough.
19:08It just always felt like it was kind of stacked against me.
19:11And the one thing I remember is how much my dad loved John Mayer, and he would listen
19:15to Room for Squares like nobody's business.
19:19My gosh.
19:20And so every time I would drive his car, the CD was right there, and I'd put it in.
19:24Or I think, yeah, it was a CD at the time.
19:26And it's just so cool to think, like, okay, as I'm making music, this is my job now.
19:32It's my job because my dad got me into it.
19:33And his favorite artist is someone who I listen to avidly.
19:37And when we made this record called Wild Child and My Dad's Perspective, I thought it'd
19:42be the perfect finishing of an album to be able to have the end credits and a minute
19:46and a half guitar solo by the one and only John Mayer.
19:50And John was so cool, he used the guitar from that album as well.
19:53From the No Room for Squares?
19:55Yeah, and so he played that guitar and he did the solo, which was really cool.
20:06Don't you imagine your dad is just like, that's my boy?
20:11Yeah, I hope.
20:12Oh, that is just, like, so full circle for you.
20:16You've wrapped up a tour that took you everywhere and sold out arenas everywhere.
20:22You and I have talked about how your show is almost therapy at some point.
20:26Sure.
20:26Can you talk about that aspect of it, of looking out and seeing people crying, or you want them
20:32to be crying, you're pissed if they're not crying.
20:34Yeah.
20:35And what that's like to open yourself emotionally like that, night after night after night.
20:40It's so funny because so many people, when I play the show, they're like, I don't know
20:43how you do that.
20:44And I go, what do you mean?
20:45And they're like, oh, you're so open.
20:46And you talk about the things you've gone through.
20:48And I think it's so natural to do that.
20:50For me, it's therapy, but it's like exposure therapy.
20:53I truly don't know anything else.
20:57I want to be very open.
20:58I want to be open with the things I've gone through.
21:00I want to be open with what I've gone through, how my relationship.
21:03It's just, to me, I think that growing up, so many of these things felt unattainable.
21:08You know, whether it was the music industry, whether it was finding love, whether it was
21:11being able to handle loss and heartbreak, whether it was just trying to navigate life
21:17without someone to teach you.
21:18And so for me, specifically, these shows were really important.
21:22And to be able to see other people go through things that I thought was only unique to me.
21:25You know?
21:28We're going to play a little game.
21:29Cool.
21:30We love our games at Billboard.
21:31This is called Rapid Fire.
21:33Okay.
21:33This or that.
21:34All right.
21:34And I'm going to give you two options, and you say which one you prefer.
21:37Tour bus or hotel?
21:38Tour bus.
21:39Hotels are annoying, and you have to unload and reload.
21:41Tour bus is built like a mobile home for me.
21:44And you can have everything you need on there.
21:46It's standard.
21:47Right at night or right in the morning?
21:48Right at night.
21:49Night is way better.
21:51Morning is a little difficult, and I'm a bit groggy, but night is nice where you kind
21:55of get into the vibes.
21:56You have a warm light, maybe a candle.
21:58Ordinary was also written at night.
22:01Meet one fan for an hour or a hundred fans for one minute each?
22:05One fan for an hour.
22:07I feel like I would love to be able to just talk to people and get to know them, and
22:10I'd
22:10love to meet ten fans for ten hours every day.
22:12Oh, wow.
22:14Play one stadium or ten intimate clubs?
22:16Ten intimate clubs, 110%.
22:18Stadiums are fun, but they're a bit big, and intimate clubs are really great because
22:23then I get to actually, like, talk to people and be able to, like, see their faces.
22:28I think we know the answer to this from your Takes Us Out that was an In-N-Out burger.
22:32Yeah.
22:33Fast food or fine dining?
22:34Fast food.
22:35All the time, every time, 99.9% of the time, fast food.
22:40And a burrito.
22:41Yes.
22:42My God.
22:42Give me a burrito every time.
22:45Alex, thank you.
22:46Thank you so, so much.
22:47Wild Child comes out August 28th.
22:50Is there anything, any parting words you want to leave us with?
22:53If you like crying, if you like laughing, like dancing, like puppies, like donuts, you
22:56like anything great in life, go listen to my album.
