00:05well I did not get nervous about it
00:08because I felt led to do it
00:10I kind of, I was already finished with the album
00:14we'd done 30 songs, I had no intentions of doing that
00:17but I kept recording all these favorite songs of mine
00:20and favorite songs of Carl's
00:22and I thought well we'll narrow them down sooner or later
00:24but they were all sounding so good
00:26I thought how can I do it
00:28how can I narrow these down
00:29to a 12 CD album
00:33and I thought I can't do it
00:35and then I thought well this is the only time in my life
00:37I'm ever going to do it
00:39never done it so far
00:40and so I thought well we're just going to make it an event
00:43I'm just going to go ahead and put all these things out
00:46and we've got four vinyls
00:48you know four set
00:49and then we'll have a two set CD
00:52but I figured that long after I'm gone
00:55years from now
00:57people can do compilations of all these songs
00:59songs like
01:00you were talking about World on Fire
01:01or What's Up
01:02or We're the Champions
01:04any of those songs
01:05there's a lot of songs in there
01:08about just the world as it is
01:10so World on Fire is no more
01:13I mean I think it's all crazy
01:15what's going on in this world
01:16it's no more about climate change
01:18than it is about the great division
01:21or that it is about the hate
01:23the greed
01:23the lack of acceptance
01:24the lack of love
01:25or the lack of trying
01:27is what gets me
01:28we don't even seem to care
01:31you know we'd rather stick with something we said
01:33we're just you know going to believe
01:35and think that we're not able to change from that
01:38but I don't march in the streets
01:40I don't carry signs
01:42I don't you know I'm not an activist
01:45I'm not a feminist
01:46I'm not any of that
01:47and yet I'm all of that
01:48I'm one of those people that wants the best for all of us
01:52I want us to believe in something bigger than ourselves
01:56you may not believe in God
01:58but you can believe in a higher wisdom
02:00a higher power
02:02whether you call it nature
02:03or whatever you may do
02:05we need to be trying
02:07because like I say
02:08this is the only world we've got
02:10and I think about other civilizations
02:12that have destroyed themselves
02:14when they got too big for their own britches
02:16and we're kind of there now
02:19and if we don't start doing something now
02:21we're not even going to be here to even talk about it
02:24I won't get to sing songs anymore
02:26because there will be songs to sing
02:27so my songs just talk about everything
02:31I'm concerned about everything
