November 2, 2009. The USS New York, a battleship built with steel from the World Trade Center, was to herald its arrival at the site of the 2001 terrorist attack with a 21-gun salute as she paused across from the WTC and then headed up river to Pier 88. Not so sure we heard 21...maybe only 3....but it was still a meaningful and impressive morning.
