00:29Hello and the big world
00:29Welcome to BMW Motorrad. Today is a day lots of motorcycle fans worldwide as well as all of us at
00:36BMW Motorrad have very much been looking forward to. A milestone in the history of BMW Motorrad. The world premiere
00:45of the M1000RR, the very first BMW M model on two wheels.
00:50I am very happy that we can show the world this fantastic bike together with the all new BMW M3
00:58and BMW M4. All three reflect the unique and thrilling BMW M DNA.
01:04And I am proud that Markus Flasch is here with me today. Markus is the CEO of BMW M. So
01:13nobody else than Markus can tell us about the BMW M DNA. Markus.
01:18Thanks for having me Markus. I am amazed. This is far better than what I expected. I mean M is
01:25the most powerful letter in the world. Racing is part of our DNA and I am a personal motorcycle fan.
01:31So for me it is just plain logic that we finally cooperate on motorcycles. This is an absolute beauty. And
01:38we have set standards. We have went to new territories in the past. We are almost 50 years existing now
01:44for BMW M.
01:45We started with the M1 but then we set benchmarks in the business sedan segments like M3, M5. We went
01:53into new territories with the X5M, the X6M and again we set the benchmark.
01:58So I think it is time to set another benchmark and now go into motorcycles together with you. I can't
02:03wait to try it out.
02:05Thank you very much Markus. It will be my pleasure to be with you on the racetrack with the new
02:12MRR. It is a challenge.
02:14And now I want to invite you to stay with me for more insights on the new MRR.
02:33As I mentioned before, the world premiere of the MRR is a milestone in the history of BMW Motorrad.
02:40The most powerful bike we have ever built includes for the first time the most powerful letter in the world
02:47in its name, M.
02:49The history of the development of the new MRR runs straight from the racetrack to this new high performance serial
02:58production supersport race bike.
03:00The experience and knowledge gained from our World Superbike Championship racing has been directly incorporated in the new MRR reinforcing
03:11the motorsport racing DNA behind this bike.
03:15Pure racing technology for the highest performance demands, both in motorsport and on the road.
03:22In concrete terms, this means the MRR 4-cylinder engine developed for the racing purposes with a peak output of
03:31212 horsepower featuring increased torque in the medium range and an increased maximum engine speed by 500 RPM.
03:40The new almost 4 kg lighter complete exhaust system made of titanium.
03:47M carbon fiber wheels as standard.
03:49A completely new aerodynamic package with M winglets and optimized windscreen provides even more stability in the curve and when
03:59accelerating.
04:00BMW Motorrad introduces M brakes for the first time.
04:05This gives the MRR best in class braking performance for the racetrack.
04:10In addition, there are a lot more technical refinements such as the latest generation of Dynamic Traction Control DTC.
04:19The six-axis sensor box and two adjustable throttle curves for optimum response.
04:26Engine brake function with three settings.
04:29Shift Assistant Pro, Launch Control and Pit Lane Limiter.
04:33And the list of technical highlights goes on and on.
04:36And in order to give you even more insights into the MRR fireworks of technology,
04:42I would like to show you now some film footage that we took just last week at our test ground
04:49near Munich.
05:09Hi Sepp.
05:10Hi Mark.
05:10Welcome.
05:14Dear motorcycle enthusiasts.
05:16My name is Mark Bongers,
05:17Motorsport Director for BMW Motorrad.
05:20I'm very proud and pleased to welcome you to the launch of the all-new M1000RR.
05:27Sepp.
05:28My name is Sepp Mechler.
05:29I'm the product manager of the MRR.
05:31I'm very happy to ride this great bike.
05:35You break a bit of a sweat.
05:36You have a smile on your face.
05:38Yeah, it's the power.
05:39It's the power.
05:40It's the power.
05:41And M has a special reason why we called it M.
05:44Tell a little bit more about M, Mark.
05:47M on that bike, M on that bike.
05:49M stands for born on the racetrack.
05:52The requirements for the production bike are all performance related and come straight out of racing.
05:59Therefore born on the racetrack into production.
06:02What do you need really for racing on the track and to be competitive in the World Superbike?
06:09A lot.
06:10Because World Superbike is a production based championship.
06:13That means that many of the components of the production bike must be taken one-to-one to the World
06:19Superbike and cannot be modified.
06:22A very good example for that are these beautiful winglets.
06:26I can only use winglets on the World Superbike if they are mounted on the production bike in the exact
06:33shape and exact form.
06:34We have other two parts like the engine.
06:37Please tell a little bit about the engine.
06:39Well, the engine is another feature which will give us a performance benefit.
06:44We will be able to step up our performance based on the ingredients there.
06:50We've got titanium conrods, lighter pistons and an all-new cylinder head which will give us a higher power output,
06:59allow us for more revs and therefore a better base for this baby.
07:0550,100 RPMs, 212 horsepower, BMW horsepower and then we have full titanium exhaust system.
07:12The bike is very light, 192 kg, M brakes, benchmark the chassis.
07:19Please tell me a little bit about chassis.
07:21Well, the modifications I told you before were basically pure for World Superbike.
07:27But what you just told, the high performance brakes, the new chassis geometry,
07:33they will help many, many of the hobby racers as well as the riders in the national championships.
07:41They run normally to the World Superstock, which means the stock regulation allow nearly no changes.
07:48So this bike, the M1000RR, has all the ingredients for both the hobby racer all the way up to the
07:55pro.
07:56And that's what I feel on the racetrack and the bike is street legal and it's a very nice bike.
08:02And Mark, sorry, but I have to go for another lap.
08:07I understand you very well, Seb.
08:08See you soon.
08:09Have fun.
08:10I will have.
08:21It looks like fun.
08:34Dear motorcycle fans, the new M1000RR embodies pure motorsport racing in every single aspect.
08:41From its brace taking design to its powerful performance.
08:46And this is exactly what this bike has in common with the philosophy of the M vehicles on four wheels.
08:52Born on the racetrack.
08:54Everything is based on the perfect interplay between dynamic performance, agility, precision and suitability for everyday use.
09:03The new M1000RR will further strengthen the success of BMW Motorrad.
09:08And it's a consistent next step on the way to our stated goal of becoming the number one brand in
09:15the premium motorcycle market.
09:17And we have set ourselves even more ambitious goals for this year.
09:21So you can look forward to more BMW Motorrad World Premiers in the near future.
09:26The new Mを進む Gracias
