Dangerous heat grips the South as flooding rains and severe storms target the Plains, Midwest and East

Millions of Americans are facing another stretch of dangerous summer weather as a stubborn dome of high pressure continues to bake much of the southern United States, while a separate storm track fuels flash flooding, severe thunderstorms and heavy rain from the Plains to the Northeast.
