00:00So the rumoured Egyptian God of War game was real after all? Well, sort of. What those
00:06rumours missed out was that other pantheons would be involved too. At the PlayStation State of Play,
00:11we saw 20 minutes of the upcoming PS5 game God of War Laufey, where you play as Faye,
00:17the deceased wife of Kratos. During this gameplay teaser, we saw Faye come face to face with a
00:22distinctly Egyptian-looking foe, who was identified by her companion as Sekhmet, the Egyptian warrior
00:28goddess. However, said companion very much did not look Egyptian. Turns out, Faye has ended up in the
00:36everyone, which a follow-up PlayStation blog post describes as, where ruthless gods from across
00:42mythology vee for power in a land overflowing with dangerous magic. To drive that home, the blog also
00:48identifies the enemy Faye has a scrap with is Beksei, a Dharmapala who is the lord of war in Tibetan
00:55Buddhism. So yes, we are technically getting an Egyptian god of war, but also a Tibetan god of
01:01war, and maybe we'll see even more pantheons added the closer we get to the game's release.
