00:00What is that?
00:00What the hell is that?
00:01What is that?
00:03I'll try anything twice, you know what I mean?
00:10Hi, I'm Joey King.
00:11And I'm Maisie Williams.
00:13And today, we are going to be playing a game
00:15where we test some food, some from the UK, some from the US.
00:19We try to guess which is which and ultimately pick our favorites.
00:23Delicious.
00:27One, two, three.
00:30They look different.
00:31Pancakes.
00:31They're different.
00:32This feels like American pancakes.
00:35Yeah.
00:36And these are like more crepes, which are inspired more so.
00:39Are crepes like, are crepes UK?
00:42No, they're more French, but it's more what we would have
00:44if we were going to have pancakes.
00:46Let me do a little crepes.
00:48If I had crepes, I'd normally have lemon and sugar.
00:52That's a pancake all right.
00:53Wanna switch?
00:54Yeah.
00:55Yeah, this is a crepe.
00:56This is a pancake.
00:57I don't know what the other ingredient is that they put in this.
01:00In what?
01:01In like a, to make it an American pancake.
01:03Because it like puffs up.
01:04How do they do that?
01:05What's up with that?
01:05What the hell is in a pancake?
01:07Oh, I actually think.
01:07What's in a crepe?
01:09Is there egg in a crepe?
01:10It would be egg, milk, and flour.
01:13Can you flip a pancake?
01:15Yeah.
01:15I can flip a pancake.
01:16Yeah.
01:17But it's going to be, it's going to be pretty unfortunately well done.
01:20Like I can't flip like one of those like fluffy ass pancakes.
01:23So it's like the.
01:24Right.
01:24But I can flip.
01:25Can you flip a pancake?
01:26Yeah, absolutely.
01:27I actually have a really funny video on my phone of me flipping a pancake and it hits my roof.
01:31So this, uh, the crepe is UK and the pancake is American?
01:35And which one do you prefer?
01:36I prefer a pancake.
01:37Which is this?
01:38I think so.
01:39Yeah, I think I prefer that.
01:41Alright, well.
01:41Um, well fine.
01:43I guess we, uh, like where we come from then.
01:45Crazy.
01:46We like where we live.
01:52Yay!
01:53I was like wait, what are we, I was like what the hell are we looking at?
01:56We got it right!
01:57That one was an easy one you guys.
01:59That one was an easy one.
02:00Yeah.
02:00We start on level one.
02:01Yeah, thank god.
02:02Let's ramp it up.
02:03Yeah, I feel like, that was good.
02:05We're like easing into the game.
02:07Mhm.
02:10One, two, three.
02:12Oh!
02:15Beverages.
02:16Let's try mine first.
02:17Cheers.
02:18Cheers.
02:18Love ya.
02:20Bye.
02:20Love ya.
02:22What is that?
02:23Is there alcohol in this or is no?
02:24Is it?
02:25I can't tell anymore.
02:26I think it might have a little alcohol.
02:28Yeah, it does.
02:28It's a screwdriver, I think.
02:30Right.
02:31Wait, is it?
02:31Okay, well let's try this.
02:33Do you have the next one?
02:34Look at me.
02:35I don't know.
02:36Look at me.
02:38Does that have alcohol in it?
02:40Is this like bad or good that we're like,
02:42I can't tell if someone has alcohol in it.
02:44What does that say about us?
02:45I don't know.
02:46Um, so this one tastes more like a traditional-
02:49Marg.
02:50Marg.
02:51And this is like an orange Marg, I guess.
02:52So this is obviously, I think, a traditional margarita
02:55that I think has alcohol in it, but I just can't tell.
02:59If it does, it's good and it's nice and subtle.
03:03It's a good blend.
03:04That's a very practical magic vibe.
03:06We're drinking a lot of margaritas leading up to this movie's release
03:09and we're not complaining.
03:11I'm gonna go US, UK, but I don't really know why.
03:16Man, I'm gonna say the same thing.
03:17And which one's your favorite?
03:18The margarita, for sure.
03:20Yeah, this I would say.
03:21This is like, I'm at an airport and I just need to get drunk
03:24because I'm afraid to fly.
03:25You know what I mean?
03:27It's a means to an end.
03:29Yeah.
03:35Yes.
03:36What is this then?
03:37Oh, it's got marmalade in it.
03:39It does?
03:40Yeah, that makes sense.
03:41Really nice.
03:42Paddington bear.
03:42Okay, so we got it, right?
03:45Do these have alcohol in them?
03:46Oh, yeah.
03:47Okay, great.
03:48You did?
03:48I'm starting to feel a little happy.
03:50I thought, I was like, I'm getting a little tiny buzz, I think.
03:53Anyway, unless it's, you know, placebo effect.
03:55But this, um, we're like killing this game.
03:58What is this drink called?
04:00It's like a breakfast margarita.
04:02A breakfast margarita.
04:04I love that.
04:05Cheers.
04:06Midnight margaritas.
04:11Forks.
04:13Mmm.
04:14Delicious.
04:14I wonder what's gonna happen.
04:16Okay, ready?
04:17Three, two, one.
04:18Mmm.
04:21I know.
04:22I already know.
04:23But I'm gonna eat it anyway.
04:24Wait, you already know?
04:24I think so.
04:25How do you know?
04:26Like, what does it have to know?
04:26I'm confused.
04:27Is this a date cake?
04:29I don't like that.
04:31I don't like that at all.
04:32Not one bit.
04:33It's quite dry.
04:34I'm gonna get some ice cream.
04:35It's actually growing on me.
04:36This is just like a chocolate cake, I think.
04:38I actually really like it.
04:40Which feels American.
04:41I really like this.
04:42This is really starting to like...
04:44First bite, no, good.
04:46But, second bite...
04:47I think it might be a Guinness cake.
04:48I mean, I'll try anything twice, you know what I mean?
04:53Mm-hmm.
04:54Oh, that's so good.
04:55What was your original guess?
04:57This, I thought this was UK.
04:59Right.
04:59I think this is maybe Guinness cake.
05:01I have never had.
05:02But that's Irish.
05:03But still.
05:04Yeah, this is loose UK America.
05:06We understand.
05:08Margaritas are not from, you know, America.
05:10We get it.
05:11If you don't like the cake, you don't have to keep going.
05:14I do!
05:14I like this one.
05:15I don't know how I felt about...
05:17I actually really like that one.
05:18If this is Guinness cake, this is the cake I had for my birthday cake this year.
05:22That same...
05:23Would it taste the same?
05:24Mm-hmm.
05:24All right.
05:25That's gonna be...
05:26It just looks like something from the UK.
05:29Mm-hmm.
05:29It just looks more like...
05:32Dry.
05:34Less...
05:35Old ball.
05:35It looks more terrible.
05:37No, it's good.
05:39It's just like, yeah, it doesn't have like icing on the side.
05:41Like America, we're like gluttony.
05:43We're like put the icing in the middle and all over the top.
05:46Yeah.
05:46And in the UK we're like civilized.
05:48And that's what made it feel like...
05:49All right.
05:50You know, let's take this outside.
05:53I'm gonna say, yeah, UK, US.
05:55Yes.
05:55And which do you prefer?
05:56UK.
05:57All right.
05:58I actually really like that one.
06:00Here, just do one more taste.
06:01All right.
06:02Look, and I think like the little dusting of icing on top is like exquisite.
06:06Yeah.
06:06I thought it was gonna taste like a flourless chocolate cake and I think that's why it surprised me.
06:10No.
06:13I really like that.
06:14I don't know.
06:15I don't know which I prefer.
06:17I'm used to this, but I don't know.
06:18Maybe I prefer that because it's new and exciting.
06:21You know, I like to broaden my horizons.
06:24I'm gonna say I prefer this one.
06:25All right.
06:26UK, US.
06:31Yeah.
06:32Wow.
06:33Look at how big these are.
06:34This is very, eat it, Bruce.
06:37What'd you say?
06:38Like from, um, Matilda.
06:40Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
06:42Got it.
06:42Oh, look at that.
06:43Thick ass.
06:45Chocolate sponge.
06:46It's a Victoria sponge, but with chocolate.
06:48One time I got this cake sent as a gift.
06:50And I was working on something.
06:52So I was like living alone.
06:53And it was such a big cake.
06:54I put it in the fridge and I ate it for breakfast and dinner.
06:58Every day.
06:59For five days.
07:00You're like, I'm not wasting this.
07:01No, it was so good.
07:02Every day for five days.
07:03Yeah.
07:04This was, um, unique.
07:06And I really liked it.
07:10One, two, three.
07:12One, two, three.
07:13Okay.
07:14I was like, I thought this was gravy.
07:16And I was like, are we really doing this backwards?
07:18Are we really doing dessert then biscuits?
07:20Yeah, like, right, biscuits and gravy.
07:22That's the thing.
07:22Now that it's not gravy, I'm actually a little disappointed.
07:24It's custard.
07:25Yeah.
07:26I just...
07:27I like gravy.
07:28I'm gonna give it a sniff.
07:31Not much.
07:31That's vanilla.
07:32Not much.
07:32Really?
07:32Let me just give a little, give a little love there.
07:35This is an apple crumble, which is from the UK.
07:38And this is an apple pie, which is from the US.
07:41And I feel like you like to make an apple pie.
07:44I make a lot of pie.
07:45You make a lot of pie.
07:46I make all kinds of different pies.
07:48I like to sometimes do a blackberry and apple crumble.
07:51Mmm, that's good.
07:52I love a strawberry rhubarb pie.
07:54I also just like a berry pie.
07:55Like I make a mixed berry pie and it's my favorite pie that I...
07:58And it's so pretty too.
07:59It's so pretty.
08:00All the red.
08:01This is UK.
08:02This is US.
08:04This is my favorite.
08:09Yay!
08:11We were right.
08:12Right again.
08:13Like, ugh, look at us go.
08:15We're so smart.
08:21Ooh.
08:23What is this?
08:25It looks like wine.
08:26Does it?
08:27But the receptacle is all wrong.
08:29That one looks like wine.
08:30This one?
08:31Yeah.
08:32Wait, sniff it.
08:34I think I know.
08:36Oh, that's strong.
08:37Ooh!
08:39Geez.
08:39What the hell is that?
08:41Okay.
08:41Tastes like grape juice or something?
08:43Is that grapes?
08:43I don't know though.
08:44I don't know.
08:45I don't know.
08:46Cheers.
08:50Okay.
08:51Okay.
08:52What is that?
08:53What is that?
08:54Is that cranberry juice cocktail?
08:55It's not.
08:55This tastes like it could be like a fruit shoot or it could be like squash.
09:00I don't like this.
09:01But do you, like I don't really know which one is it.
09:03Hang on.
09:03Let's really hunker down and focus.
09:06This is a...
09:08I don't really like that very much.
09:10What?
09:10That.
09:12I don't like this.
09:13It's very thick.
09:13Well then I guess we have our answer.
09:14It's probably the UK.
09:16It's probably the US.
09:19I hate all your shit, you hate all mine.
09:21And that's okay.
09:22I think this is maybe tart cherry.
09:26Okay.
09:26And this kind of tastes like it could be a squash of some sort which is like diluted.
09:29That really lights up the part of my mouth that's like here.
09:34I mean that's not tart cherry.
09:35What the hell is that?
09:36I don't know.
09:37Is it elderberry juice?
09:38Elderberry.
09:39I think it's elderberry.
09:40Yeah.
09:41Which is like what you drink when you're sick.
09:43I don't quite like it either honestly.
09:45This I don't know.
09:46It kind of tastes like a squash.
09:48Like a diluted squash.
09:49This is like...
09:50Or a fruit shoot.
09:50Unbelievable.
09:51The color and the flavor are not matching up in my head at all.
09:55Or maybe it's cranberry juice.
09:57I don't know.
09:58UK US.
10:01But I can't tell you why.
10:03I don't know.
10:03I'll say the same UK US and only because I think I'm familiar with this flavor.
10:07I don't know what this is.
10:08Right.
10:08And I feel the same way.
10:09I actually have no idea what either of them are but this tastes more familiar.
10:12I like this one.
10:13This round is fun.
10:14Yeah.
10:14This needs to be cold.
10:15I don't really like either of them to be honest with you.
10:18Me neither.
10:19But if I were to...
10:20I would say...
10:21But if I was forced to drink one of them for the rest of my life, I'd choose this one.
10:24Over ice.
10:25Preferred.
10:26Yeah.
10:31Rabina!
10:32What am I looking at here?
10:34Is this the...
10:34Didn't you say sweet cherry?
10:36Didn't you say black cherry?
10:36Yeah, but was this the...
10:38But I said that about the dark one.
10:40Yeah, that is the dark one.
10:41I don't think so.
10:42Wait, really?
10:43This is the pale one?
10:44Something that's diluted.
10:45Yeah, I said squash.
10:46So I was kind of right.
10:48I didn't say Rabina.
10:49Okay, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
10:50What is that?
10:51Is that black currant?
10:52Yes, but it's like what you do is you put a little bit in and then you put water in
10:56and then you like...
10:57That's good.
10:57Okay.
10:58Dilute it.
10:59Look here.
10:59Dilute one part squash with at least four parts water to give a 250 ml serving.
11:05Roughly 17 servings for the whole.
11:07Thank you, amazing.
11:10This was...
11:12This was not good.
11:14This, you're letting down the whole of America.
11:16I know.
11:17I hate to say it.
11:17We're not doing great.
11:19I drink tart cherry juice.
11:21I like tart cherry juice.
11:22That was what you were saying.
11:23And because it's much more...
11:25It's lighter.
11:26It's sour.
11:27It's flavorful.
11:27This was just like...
11:28A bit too sweet.
11:29Syrupy.
11:30Yeah.
11:31Let's have a look at the ingredients.
11:34It really is just...
11:35Dark sweet cherry...
11:36Dark sweet though.
11:37There's sugar in this.
11:38See, this is just full of sh**.
11:39Yeah, this is...
11:40Well, so is...
11:41Well, this is not actually full of sh**.
11:43For months, an American product is actually not full of...
11:45This is like fake juice.
11:47So, this is probably better for you.
11:49Look at us.
11:50Thank you so much for joining us to guess which food is which and where is it from.
11:56We had the best time.
11:58And we did it.
11:58We got most of them right.
12:00We got them...
12:00Or maybe all of them right.
12:01I think so.
12:02Mm-hmm.
