00:00Welcome back. U.S. President Donald Trump says he would like to see interest rates come down.
00:06This is because, according to him, that interest rates are now artificially high and should be allowed to fall,
00:12claiming that countries with low interest rates, like Switzerland, are taking advantage of the U.S.
00:18Well, I think it is, but I mean, it's very sad.
00:22Every time we do great, we announce great numbers, the interest rates go up.
00:26And they go up because they want to stop inflation.
00:28They should go down because the country is strong.
00:31You know, I see countries like Switzerland where they're the number one lowest interest rates, a half a percent.
00:37And we pay three and a half percent.
00:39And yet, if we stop doing business, for instance, I have the absolute right to cut off all business with
00:44a country like Switzerland.
00:46So why are they prime if I can cut off the business and they are no longer functional?
00:51And yet they're considered to be like an elite country.
00:53And I don't want to single them out because there's 60 countries like that.
00:58They live off the United States.
01:00Minutes from the U.S. Federal Reserve's July meeting show deepening concerns about inflation with several policymakers ready to raise
01:08interest rates.
