Speculation is rife regarding a potential realignment between Shiromani Akali Dal and the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the 2027 Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections. The two former alliance partners had previously parted ways during the farmers' protest after governing Punjab together from 2007 to 2017. Recent political developments, including high-level meetings in Delhi and public statements emphasizing past progress and development delivered from the national capital, have fueled discussion about a renewed partnership. Analysts suggest that recent interactions between key leadership figures indicate behind-the-scenes movement towards reuniting the former coalition partners for the upcoming state assembly polls in Punjab.

00:05Remember, this was an alliance that had decided to then part ways during the Farmers.net.
00:12Har Simrit Kaur Badal, representing the Shiromani Akali Dal,
00:16she is of course, remember, has been a senior member of parliament, senior city leader.
00:20She's dropped a certain hint, though not completely clear, addressing a rally at Sangroor.
00:25Har Simrit Badal says, I quote her here,
00:26The works you are telling are very small, may God bless, but speaking further is not my duty.
00:31You will come to know yourself, may God bless and people give us strength.
00:35Such alliances happen.

00:40Foundation of Development and Progression is leading Punjab, helping Punjab.
00:44Let's listen in first.
01:16Let's try and get an understanding on this.
01:18Aseem Bassi is joining me.
01:20Aseem now Har Simrit, who is the wife of Subbir Singh Badal, is a veteran leader in her own right.
01:25What should we make of her statement referring to works done in Delhi?
01:29What is your assessment of a possible reigniting of the alliance between BJP and Sydney?
01:38Well, ever since Subbir Badal met the Prime Minister and Narendra Modi a few days back,
01:42the speculation was rife that Shromini Akali Dal and BJP may get together again before the 2027 Vithan Sabah polls.
01:49And now, Har Simrit Kaur Badal, who is a senior MP also from Bathinda and basically wife of Subbir Badal,
01:56she has openly given a hint that God may bless us, people give us strength.
02:03Such alliances happen that the works that were being done from Delhi for the progress of Punjab are again done
02:09with this.
02:10So, it is clear because Shromini Akali Dal and BJP were together in alliance
02:14and they had a government from 2007 to 2017 in Punjab.
02:19Thereafter, they split after the farm laws controversy came up.
02:22But now, after the meeting of Subbir Badal and the Prime Minister Modi and now regular,
02:28these kind of statements now given by Har Simrit Kaur Badal and later when Subbir Badal was also attacked a
02:33few days back,
02:35Prime Minister giving a call to Har Simrit Kaur Badal and Har Simrit showing courtesy.
02:39So, these are all basically moving towards that direction and the speculation is very, very rife in Punjab
02:44that yes, alliance may happen, is on the cards before these polls, with Han Sabah 2027 polls
02:51and today's Har Simrit Kaur Badal's statement is a big hint towards that direction.
02:54I think definitely, I think something is happening behind the curtains.
02:57Once, strong alliance partners, Sri Ramani Akali Dal Dal and the Bhartya Janata Party parted ways,
03:02but will that ideology bring them back together?
03:05Will it help them in upcoming Punjab polls?
