A fierce political clash is escalating as Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff launches a blistering attack on President Donald Trump, calling him a “draft-dodging, crook president” and accusing him of recklessly leading the nation into war. Ossoff’s latest remarks come amid an intensifying feud with the White House and a growing confrontation involving fellow Democratic Senator Mark Kelly. The fiery speech has sparked a fresh political battle, drawing widespread attention online and fueling speculation about Ossoff’s growing national profile ahead of the 2028 presidential race.

00:00that the draft-dodging crook president
00:08who has plunged our nation recklessly into a war he knows not how to end or to win
00:16tried to imprison this man who embodies American heroism, a decorated combat veteran,
00:25naval aviators, astronauts, space shuttle commander, U.S. senator, Donald Trump tried
00:31to lock him up for daring to state in public a fundamental principle of military law.
00:37Mike Collins is pro-war, he's pro-tariffs, he's pro-cutting your health care, he's a bigot
00:48and a Trump puppet.
00:50Give it up again for these two American heroes, Senator Mark Kelly, Congresswoman Gabby Giffords.
00:59Thank you all so much.
01:01Thank you both so much.
01:03Please take your seats, folks.
01:05Can you all hear me okay all the way in the back?
01:08How y'all doing?
01:10Great to see you.
01:12Y'all ready to work?
01:14Y'all ready to win?
01:15Yes.
01:16We are joined by these two extraordinary patriots and heroes.
01:25And it's our pleasure to introduce you desert folk to humidity.
01:34I'm going to say a few more words about Mark and Gabby in a moment, but first of all, let
01:39me say a few words about the Chattahoochee Valley in Columbus.
01:43I'm deeply grateful to Congressman Bishop for your service to this community and to the
01:48United States.
01:50And to your wife, Vivian.
01:53To Dean Calvin Smire, who's here with us.
01:56Thank you, Calvin, for being with us.
02:00Colonel Campbell Ace, thank you for your service to the country through your military career
02:05and to this day.
02:07I'm grateful to our former Middle District U.S. Marshal.
02:10Steve, raise your hand.
02:11Please let us honor all of you.
02:13Thank you for being here.
02:14And Kim alongside you.
02:15And Sharon with the Colonel.
02:17And there are so many elected officials and distinguished visitors that please forgive me if I don't have
02:25the time to acknowledge all of you, but I'm deeply grateful to you for your presence and
02:29your service.
02:29And I'm deeply grateful to all of you for the privilege of representing you.
02:35And the first thing that I want you to hear from me is that I am your servant.
02:41I am your servant.
02:43I work for you.
02:45You're the boss.
02:47And whenever and however I can be of service to you, I want you to reach out to me and
02:53let me know.
02:53Because my fundamental purpose in this office is to support you and help you and solve problems
03:00for you so that you and your families and this community can flourish.
03:05And this seat does not belong to me.
03:08This seat belongs to the people of the great state of Georgia.
03:11And I'm so grateful to all of you for everything you did back during those two double-header,
03:18double-overtime U.S.
03:19Senate runoffs.
03:21to send to the U.S. Senate from the state of Georgia, and you all know, of course, our
03:26complicated history, the heart of the old Confederacy, the cradle of a civil rights movement, sent
03:33to the U.S. Senate in those pivotal elections, the young Jewish son of an immigrant and a black
03:39pastor who holds Dr. King's pulpit at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
03:42Thank you for making that happen, not for our sake, but for the country.
03:51And I think that it's so fitting that we're here in Columbus today with so many extraordinary
03:59veterans, service members, military spouses, and civilians who support the work of our service
04:05members here with us, here just down the street from Fort Benning, with you, Mark.
04:13Because I don't think anything illustrates the times more aptly than that the draft-dodging
04:24crook president, who has plunged our nation recklessly into a war he knows not how to end or to win,
04:40tried to imprison this man who embodies American heroism, a decorated combat veteran, naval aviators,
04:50astronaut, space shuttle commander, U.S. Senator, Donald Trump tried to lock him up for daring to
04:57state in public a fundamental principle of military law. And you heard, I work closely with Mark,
05:06we sit together on the Intelligence Committee, and it's been a privilege to see how he has persevered
05:11despite these threats of imprisonment by his own government, dutifully serving his constituents
05:18in Arizona, dutifully seeing to the national security of all Americans, and not backing down
05:25for even a moment in the face of those threats. Thank you, Mark, for all you've done, and for
05:32your courage. Now, we have the recent memory in Georgia of our votes mattering so much.
05:47Had we not done what we did in January of 2021, we would not have had the votes to cap
05:55the cost of
05:56insulin for seniors on Medicare here in Georgia and across the country. We would not have had the votes
06:02to pass the infrastructure law that's pulled lead pipes out of drinking water systems and expanded
06:07rural broadband internet and upgraded our seaports and airports all across the state. We would not have
06:13had the votes to confirm Ketanji Brown Jackson, a justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.
06:26Nor would I have been empowered to serve you in the way I've sought to serve you these last six
06:31years.
06:32The resources that I've delivered for the new mobile medical unit for Columbus, the resources to expand the
06:40space center at Columbus State, the resources for new science and technology education for Muscogee County
06:47school children. I want you to know that every single day I have the Chattahoochee Valley on my mind,
06:54and it doesn't matter if you're for me or against me. It doesn't matter if you're a Democrat or Republican
06:59or an Independent or none of the above. I'm for you, and I'm working for you every day.
07:04And I think it's that approach to this office that has led to our coalition expanding far beyond
07:18party lines. You may have seen the conservative Republican mayor of Valdosta is now on this team.
07:27The Republican mayor of Tifton, Georgia is now on this team. And there will be more new bipartisan
07:35friends joining us in the weeks ahead, because this is a campaign for everybody who longs for decency
07:42and sanity and competence and quality public service. So thank you for being a part of this team.
07:55You all know how hard fought those victories were back in 2021, and you know how hard we will have
08:01to fight these next few months. Because this scandal pinata, Mike Collins, right? Every time you shake
08:14Congressman Collins' new misdeeds fall out. Have you seen it? Mike Collins is pro-war. He's pro-tariffs.
08:26He's pro-cutting your health care. He's a bigot and a Trump puppet. And I want you to follow me
08:36through on this, because it's truly shocking the questions Mike Collins still refuses to answer.
08:46You've got, first of all, the neo-Nazi propagandist who was based on Mike Collins' property and at the
08:53same time producing promotional materials for Mike Collins' business. Did you all see that?
08:58Mike Collins still will not answer how much he paid this neo-Nazi, or whether he just accepted the
09:07neo-Nazi services as a gift. Then you've got the leaks out of the congressman's office
09:15documenting that Mike Collins' office was briefing some of the most notorious white supremacists in
09:24America on their efforts on behalf of a prominent Holocaust denier. And let me be very clear about
09:32this, and for members of the press who are here, I want you to hear this very clearly. I want
09:37you to
09:37hear this very clearly. Congressman Mike Collins needs to release every communication, every email,
09:45every text message, every phone record, every encrypted chat message between his office, himself,
09:52his chief of staff, and those white supremacists. And he needs to release those communications today. Today.
10:06It is simply unacceptable that a sitting member of the U.S. House of Representatives,
10:13who seeks a six-year term in the United States Senate, would cover up his office's communications
10:21with prominent white supremacists in the year 2026. There is no place for white nationalism in the
10:29United States Senate. And this fall, we will teach Mike Collins a career-ending lesson he will never
10:35forget. Now we're going to have a conversation in a moment that Mark has graciously agreed to moderate. But I
10:55just want to close by
10:57assuring you of something. Every single day when I wake up, what my team and I think about is your
11:08families, your kids, your grandkids, their safety, their well-being, their
11:17opportunity, their happiness. I've got two little girls at home. Eva is four. Lila is one. They're the light of
11:27our lives. I know the same is true for you and your kids and your grandkids.
11:34And I do not want Eva and Lila to grow up in a world defined by the values of Donald
11:42J. Trump.
11:50I don't want them to grow up in a world or in a country where a cancer patient who just
11:57got a cancer diagnosis can't fight their cancer until they fight their insurance company
12:03if it's trying to deny them their cancer treatment. I don't want them to grow up in a state where
12:13hundreds of foster children can be trafficked into unspeakable abuse and the high and mighty shrug their shoulders and dismiss
12:23it.
12:25And I truly believe that we have not just the obligation to restore checks and balances in this election, but
12:35the opportunity to send a message about what Georgia stands for that will echo across the country and down history
12:42for decades.
12:44So thank you so much for being a part of it. Thank you again to Senator Kelly and Congresswoman Giffords
12:49for being here. Let's work and get this thing done. Thank you so much, Columbus. Thank you.
13:01Thank you, John. Thank you, everybody. Thank you, Gabby. Congressman, thank you for the introduction. And Colonel Campbell, thank you
13:11again.
13:12So great to be here. So let me start with Senator Ossoff. We are less than I believe less than
13:2380 days to the election. And you are the only Democratic senator that is up for reelection in a state
13:35that Donald Trump won in 2024.
13:38So could you talk a little bit about what that means and how you're approaching the election and what you're
13:46actually up against this November?
13:49Mark, I was reflecting over the weekend with some supporters. Early voting opens in less than eight weeks. This election
14:00is upon us.
14:04And it just so happens that some people happen to live at times and in places where what we do
14:14matters more.
14:19And this year in Georgia, once again, that's us. You all remember how hard fought those victories were six years
14:27ago. Folk in other parts of the country didn't believe we would be able to achieve that.
14:34We were doubted. We faced down dirty tricks. But we came together and we did something truly extraordinary and historic.
14:51And so what I'm asking everybody here to embrace, not for my sake, not for the sake of my career,
14:57not for the sake of a Democratic Party, but for the sake of our republic at this moment in our
15:01history, this pivotal moment in our history, is that over these next three months, we face what for many of
15:11us is the most profound civic obligation of our lifetimes.
15:17And on election night, when you start to see the results come in, I know that you don't want to
15:25be asking yourselves what more you might have done.
15:30And I know, at least speaking for myself, that 10 years down the road, when Eva and Lila asked me
15:39what I did at this moment in our country's history, I'm going to make sure I'm proud of the truthful
15:45answer I can give them.
15:47So let's do this together, y'all. Let's do this together. Thank you.
15:56Thank you. Winning elections is not rocket science. It's just about, and if it was, I could help with that.
16:05It's just about out working the other side. And I think what John's getting at is do everything you can
16:11to help.
16:11And that includes getting other people to vote if they're voting for him, which I'm sure your friends and family
16:19members are.
16:20But sometimes voting is hard. People got a lot going on in their lives.
16:25So when it's time for you to, you know, make your plan for vote, to vote, find five other people
16:31and get them to do that as well.
16:34So I want to turn to Gabby for a second. Gabby, you've spent years traveling the country and meeting people
16:42who want to make a big difference in their communities.
16:45You do that all the time. What's your advice to people who are wondering what they can do?
16:53Be a leader. So as an example, be passionate, be courageous, be your best, be your best, be your best.
17:02Thank you, Gabby.
17:08Everybody should be passionate about something.
17:12I want to quickly go back to 1969, to July of 1969.
17:16I was in kindergarten. You weren't even born yet.
17:20Apollo 11 landed on the moon.
17:22Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.
17:26Heroes to me.
17:28There was also a third guy.
17:31There's a third guy as part of Apollo 11.
17:34His name was Michael Collins.
17:36Different. Different one.
17:38Different guy.
17:39And that's my point.
17:41The Michael Collins that I knew, who passed away a few years ago, was a guy I looked up to.
17:46That, I mean, just like a hero and a leader at the highest level.
17:52John is currently dealing with a different Michael Collins.
17:56I think in a lot of ways, maybe the opposite of Apollo 11, Michael Collins, who has faced a litany
18:04of scandals.
18:04You have talked about a number of those.
18:09I knew about most of them.
18:11I'm sure there are others.
18:13What else do voters need to know about this Michael Collins as they head to the ballot box?
18:22Look, I think in a way, it's tragic that here in Georgia in the year 2026, in some ways, one
18:35of the central questions of the U.S. Senate race is whether white nationalism belongs in the United States Senate.
18:46We're so much better than this.
18:50And, you know, Brian Kemp was right about Mike Collins.
18:53Do you remember how hard the governor worked to prevent this guy from getting the Republican nomination?
18:59It was him and the coach.
19:00Remember that?
19:02Coach Dooley would have been an honorable opponent.
19:06Not a sitting congressman who's surrounded at work and at home by neo-Nazi ideology and white nationalism.
19:15Let me just reiterate, because we're joined here by members of the press, what the congressman needs to do right
19:22away.
19:23Okay, some of the communications between his office and these white supremacists.
19:28By the way, we're talking about, like, Nick Fuentes, Richard Spencer, who helped organize that hate march in Charlottesville.
19:36You all remember that?
19:37Yes.
19:38Mike Collins' office was briefing these white supremacists about the work Mike Collins' office was doing to support a Holocaust
19:47denier.
19:48This is something that a sitting member of Congress from Georgia was up to.
19:51Some of those records leaked, but he's hiding the rest of them.
19:56And so, again, for members of the press, Mike Collins needs to come out today.
20:02He needs to release every email.
20:04He needs to release every text message.
20:06He needs to release every communication between his office and those white supremacists.
20:11But the other thing I just want to make sure that we're not losing focus on.
20:16There's Mike Collins and white nationalism.
20:21And then there's the daily pain that Georgians are feeling when just in the last few months, just in the
20:30last few months, we've hit all-time high prices for rent, for groceries, for a meal out at a restaurant,
20:41the power bill.
20:42All-time highs in American history this summer.
20:47You remember the president promised to bring down prices on day one?
20:54Diesel's up about 47% since inauguration.
20:59It's more expensive than ever to buy a tractor for your farm, to buy school supplies for your kid.
21:06He promised to bring down prices on day one.
21:09What's the other promise he made?
21:10He said he wouldn't take us to war.
21:13He also said he would end the war in Ukraine.
21:16Day one.
21:17And so I say all that to say you've got Mike Collins and white nationalism.
21:22Then you have these broken promises and this failure from the White House.
21:25And I would address the president's few remaining supporters to contrast his promises with the results you've been delivered and
21:39to vote accordingly.
21:47And it's not only Mike Collins.
21:49I mean, you see this in Texas with Kent Paxton.
21:54Another person who has no business running for the United States Senate, who was impeached by the Republicans.
22:03His own party impeached him because of corruption.
22:08So how'd this happen?
22:11Well, I think it happens when the country elects a man who was convicted of 34 felonies.
22:20Sets the conditions for the Republican Party nominating people who have no business seeking these offices.
22:30And, you know, the corruption just continues at the highest level.
22:34I don't know how many folks have seen this, but lately the president of the United States is asking people
22:41to pay him $100,000 a month for access to information before the general public gets it.
22:52And it looks like that's going to happen.
22:55Can you think of something that is more corrupt than that?
22:58I have a hard time.
23:00I would contend that you could take the corruption of any corrupt presidents in our country's history, add it all
23:07up, multiply it times a thousand.
23:11And you do not even get close to what we're seeing with this administration.
23:21Let me turn to Gabby for one last second.
23:27I'm getting the, I'm getting the, like, the I'm done, we're done signal.
23:31Um, but Gabby, whether, whether we're in Georgia or traveling somewhere else around the country, we have families who just
23:39want to feel safe in their communities.
23:42What, when you think about what's at stake in this election, what do you think about?
23:47Safer communities.
23:48Kids, kids.
23:50A lot of kids, a lot of kids.
23:52And this is what this is all really about.
23:55Many of you here have kids and grandchildren, and we want a better future for them.
24:02And that only happens to electing the right people to office.
24:07And I know, in my heart, and Gabby knows, that here in Georgia, this is ground zero for getting things
24:14done for children and future generations.
24:16And that starts with John Ossoff.
24:19So thank you.
24:24Thank you, everybody, and let me give John the last word.
24:28Well, let's first of all, once again, show our love and appreciation and respect for our guests.
24:35Before you applaud them, I want to share with you all, but I don't know about you, I remember where
24:39I was when I learned that the congresswoman had been shot.
24:47And I remember that whole week tuning in to the evening news to try to learn, Gabby, whether you were
24:58going to make it.
25:04And we learned, thank God, thank God, that you would live.
25:13And no one knew if you'd be able to walk, if you'd be able to talk.
25:18And so I just want to say that to have you here with us, to see you walk up on
25:26this stage, to hear you speak so passionately to our hearts is inspiration to all of us.
25:38Give it up for Mark Kelly and Gabby Giffords, y'all.
25:42Thank you so much, guys.
25:43And listen, listen, we have an opportunity here, we have an opportunity here, we have an opportunity to turn the
25:55page on this obscenity and to start riding the ship.
26:04Let's make a powerful statement about what we're for.
26:08Thank you all so much for being in my corner.
26:11Y'all ready to win, Columbus?
26:13Thank you so much.
