Sailing Vessel Beauty Docked at Marco Island Marina
After days of sailing along Florida’s southwest coast, Beauty finds herself at docked in Marco Island, a place where civilization seems to meet the wilderness of the Ten Thousand Islands.
Marco Island is more than a beautiful stop along the coast. It is a gateway to a vast world of mangrove islands, hidden waterways and shallow bays stretching south and west toward the Everglades and the Gulf.
From the deck of Beauty, there is always a feeling that another adventure is just beyond the horizon. One direction leads toward the comforts of the island; the other leads into a maze of water and mangroves where the charts become more important, the channels narrower, and the wilderness closer.
For a sailor, this is what makes Marco Island special. It is a place to pause, look at the chart, check the weather and wonder where the next day’s tide will carry you.
Beauty is docked for the night.
Tomorrow, the adventure continues.
