00:11violence but show no extremist ideology. The report found 71% of referrals involving children
00:17had no clear ideology, and 79% of child referrals were closed without progressing through PREVENT.
00:24Education made almost 60% of those referrals, with many sent back to schools after cases were closed.
00:32The government says every referral is assessed by experts, and people judged not at risk of
00:37terrorism should still receive support. It says work is continuing following the Southport inquiry.
