In April 2020, a soldier enlisted in the Air Force as the pandemic began, preventing his family from attending his Basic Military Training graduation. The soldier, being the youngest of three siblings and the only son, had not seen his mother, Lilian McGee, for seven months. Upon receiving his station assignment, he seized the chance to return home first, orchestrating a surprise for his mother, who was completely unaware of his arrival.
