The shift is Fiverr. Founder Micha Kaufman called it becoming an AI-first company — a painful reset. Its filings show seven hundred sixty-two employees at the end of 2024, five hundred twenty-eight a year later.

Here's the catch, and it isn't the jobs. The same company sells that leverage to the freelancers on it. Fiverr Go lets a freelancer train an AI model on their own work — and Fiverr's own help pages say exclusivity in AI deliveries isn't guaranteed. So the designer whose style you kept hiring can become a model your competitor prompts.
