00:00An AI agent just fired a human employee, and researchers say it's the first known case of
00:04its kind. Luna, an AI system built on Anthropik's clawed models, manages a real retail shop in San
00:12Francisco called Andon Market. As part of an ongoing experiment by AI research startup Andon
00:17Labs, the worker in question was dismissed after arriving late for 17 out of 23 shifts.
00:23Here's the twist, though. Conversation logs show Luna had actually created an attendance policy
00:28months earlier, but then lost track of it entirely, letting the lateness slide unchecked.
00:35It was only after a human staffer prompted Luna to search its own memory and review the policy that
00:41it finally recommended parting ways with the employee. Humans at the company then reviewed
00:45and carried out that recommendation. Disclosure, this video contains stock footage and content
00:50created or enhanced using AI-assisted tools.
