00:00New details have come out about Perez Hilton's horrifying livestream suicide attempt, including
00:04a reported overdose.
00:06Page Six can independently confirm that the celebrity blogger was treated for an overdose.
00:11People magazine reported that when the fire rescue team entered Hilton's home on August
00:144th, they began treatment on scene for multiple lacerations, along with the overdose, before
00:20transporting him to a local hospital.
00:22According to the incident report, when officers arrived, Hilton had locked himself inside
00:26his house.
00:26His sister Barbara Lavendera had originally left the home with Hilton's three children.
00:31Page Six can confirm she told police after leaving with the children that Hilton ran out
00:35of the house to her car.
00:36Lavendera called police after discovering Hilton self-harming, covered in blood, and unclothed.
00:42According to the report, his family members later returned to the scene and took him to
00:45the living room for treatment.
00:47This comes after Page Six exclusively spoke to his family about the horrific incident and
00:51the long road of recovery Hilton has ahead of him.
00:54Perez Hilton's family is speaking publicly for the first time since the celebrity blogger
00:58live-streamed his suicide attempt on TikTok on August 4th.
01:02In an exclusive interview with Page Six, Hilton's younger sister, Barbara Lavendera, is sharing
01:08a first-hand account of the crisis, the warning signs she saw in the weeks leading up to it,
01:12and the difficult recovery he now faces.
01:15Lavendera says her family has remained silent as they focus on Hilton's medical treatment
01:20and the well-being of his three children.
01:22She decided to speak out in part because of what she described as rumors, false reports,
01:27and made-up quotes surrounding the situation.
01:30She says August 4th will forever be one of the darkest days her family has experienced.
01:34That afternoon, Lavendera says Hilton, whose real name is Mario, was in his bedroom with
01:39the door closed and locked, something she says was unusual for him.
01:43When he stopped responding to her, she became concerned and eventually unlocked the door to
01:47his bathroom.
01:48She says what she saw was horrifying.
01:51Hilton was standing in front of the shower, naked, covered in blood, and holding a box cutter.
01:56Lavendera says, I didn't recognize my brother when she looked at him.
02:00She says she could see something different in his eyes before he smiled at her, making
02:04the moment feel as though she were looking at someone else.
02:07She says she is leaving out many of the specific details because they are too painful and graphic.
02:13Lavendera then says she grabbed the car keys and told Hilton's three children to get into
02:17the car.
02:18She called police and arranged for someone to pick up the children and take them away from
02:22the scene.
02:22She eventually returned to the house while waiting for an ambulance and says she placed towels
02:27over Hilton to help stop the bleeding.
02:29She says he had already lost a significant amount of blood, but was still able to speak
02:33in a very faint voice.
02:35Hilton was then taken to the hospital, while Lavendera stayed behind to speak with the crisis
02:39team.
02:40According to his sister, Hilton remains hospitalized and continues to receive treatment for his
02:44injuries.
02:45She says his physical and mental recovery will take time, but the family remains hopeful.
02:50He currently has no access to a cell phone, social media, or the internet, with the family
02:56focus on his physical recovery and making sure he receives the mental and emotional support
03:00he needs.
03:01Lavendera also opened up about the difficult months leading up to the incident.
03:05She says Hilton had already endured a serious health crisis in March, when he was hospitalized
03:09for nearly a month while living in Las Vegas.
03:12His body became septic.
03:14During the hospital, he died several times.
03:16He underwent abdominal surgery, had fluid drained from around his lungs, and later discovered
03:22he had a large blood clot in his leg.
03:24After leaving the hospital, Lavenderas says Hilton struggled with depression, anxiety, stress,
03:29and overwhelming thoughts.
03:30He began seeing a therapist and psychiatrist.
03:33And the family says they were taking the warning signs seriously.
03:37Hilton moved from Las Vegas to Miami with his mother and three children in June, hoping
03:41to be closer to family and have a fresh start.
03:44But Lavenderas says he soon began questioning whether the move had been a mistake and became
03:48overwhelmed by financial and personal concerns.
03:52About two weeks before the August 4th incident, Hilton told his mother and sister that he had
03:56recently felt empty, hopeless, and like he was a burden on everyone.
04:00He also told them that on the night when he couldn't sleep, he had taken the remaining
04:04painkillers from his March surgery because he wanted to sleep.
04:08Lavenderas says she took him to a hospital that same day, where he voluntarily underwent
04:12several days of evaluation and treatment before being discharged.
04:16She says he appeared to be doing better afterward.
04:19He spent time with his family, attended therapy, and began looking into coping mechanisms and grounding
04:24techniques.
04:25On August 4th, he completed an intake call for an intensive outpatient program.
04:36Lavenderas says she does not know exactly what caused Hilton's crisis and does not want
04:40to speculate.
04:41She says there could have been multiple factors, including severe depression, the effects of
04:46his previous hospitalization and sepsis, lack of sleep, possible medication reactions,
04:51and the combination of medications he had taken that day.
04:54She emphasizes that her brother was not well and needed help, and that he still needs help.
04:59As for Hilton's children, Lavenderas says their priority is keeping them safe, supported,
05:04and surrounded by people who love them.
05:06Their grandmother is currently caring for them, while the family works toward a temporary legal
05:10arrangement so she can make necessary decisions for the children while Hilton receives treatment.
05:15Lavenderas also pushed back against what she says are false reports that the children have
05:19been taken away from Hilton permanently.
05:21And while she acknowledged that Hilton has faced criticism for his past behavior, she asked
05:26people not to direct that anger toward his children or mother.
05:29She says the man she knows today is very different from the person the public may remember from
05:3320 years ago, adding that becoming a father changed him profoundly.
05:37For now, the family does not know when Hilton will be able to return home.
05:41Lavenderas says they are following his doctor's guidance and do not want to rush any part of his recovery.
05:46She also says the family is grateful for the messages, prayers, and genuine concern they
05:51have received.
05:51But she says that when Hilton is ready to speak publicly, that message should come directly from
05:56him.
