00:53The Department of Foreign Affairs is coordinating with the Philippine Embassy in Beijing to verify the circumstances of the arrests
00:59and ensure due process and consular assistance.

01:17We call on Chinese authorities to safeguard the welfare of the arrested Filipinos and to promptly notify our foreign service
01:23posts of their arrest and detention,
01:25consistent with the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations and the 2013 Philippines-China Consular Agreement.
01:30The 2013 agreement states that the host country must notify the other country's consulate posts within four days of the
01:36fact and reasons for which the national has been detained, arrested, or deprived of freedom by any means.

02:04He also says that a largely confidential provisional arrangement for naval resupply missions to a Yung-In Shoal does not
02:10weaken the Philippines' position in the maritime dispute.
02:13Although Marcos earlier said that the Philippines would inevitably be affected in case of a conflict between Beijing and Taiwan,
02:19he says the Philippines will not allow any attack to be launched from its territory.
02:23He says the country, quote, has no desire to be a belligerent nation in the region.
02:30Miralco Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan expresses skepticism about the economic viability of nuclear energy in the Philippines despite political support

02:39This as Miralco PowerGen is studying the viability of small modular reactors backed by a $2.8 million U.S.
02:46government grant to evaluate technologies and eventually identify a preferred option.
02:50But Pangilinan himself expresses his doubts and says,

02:55Pangilinan points out that while nuclear fuel may be cheap, almost everything needed to get a plant up and running
