Cochise — Swallow Tales 1971 (UK, Country, Blues Rock)
The vacant vocal position was filled by John Gilbert of Mighty Joe Young, who had a harsher vocal style than Brown. Cole adapted his instrument to suit him, and the band's sound became harder. Mick Grabham composed the bulk of the material for the second album (Cole contributed only three songs). In addition to the band's original compositions, "Swallow Tales" included a version of Buddy Holly's "Love's Made A Fool Of You" with guest vocals by Steve Marriott. Although this song wasn't a chart success, it received more radio airplay on both sides of the Atlantic.
