Smoke — Smoke At George's Coffee Shop 1969 (USA, Psychedelic, Blues Rock)
In 1969, Uni Records released the second (and final) album by the Texas band Smoke At George's Coffee Shop, also featuring John Orvis on all songs. Many years later, studio staff present during the historic recording of their first album recalled the musicians as amazing people, each of whom was simply overwhelmed by music. At times, it seemed as if the guys were performing some kind of rock oratorio of the future, part of a new life, completely filled with hippie ideas and corresponding melodies. Keyboardist Eddie Beyer remained in California, where he continued playing in the bands Smith and Canned Heat. Drummer Phil Parker began performing with bluesman Shakey Jake Harris.
