This is a story about a self-proclaimed European country located in the Balkans, precisely, between Serbia and Croatia, a part of the land NOBODY wants stands there. Although policeman from the both of these countries constantly patrol this part of the Danube river, one Czech man named Vit Jedlika decided to take that land, and create his own country. Even though this country has a low chance of actually being recognized by the world, it has gotten a whopping 1205 citizens, with around 270 thousand more who want to apply for the Libraland passport. This short shows you a brief history of how and why this land is(was) unclaimed by anyone, in the heart of the Balkans. Enjoy ;)

00:00Did you know that there is a country nobody wants in Europe?
00:03I'm talking about Liberland, a small self-proclaimed country located between Serbia and Croatia along the Danube River.
00:10A Czech man named Vít Jedlica claimed this country a few years ago because nobody wanted it.
00:14But why?
00:15This all started a couple hundred years ago, after the First World War, when Yugoslavia was first created.
00:21They didn't clearly write their own borders, since they didn't care.
00:24A couple of years later, Serbia and Croatia started a fight over their borders because they couldn't agree on whose
00:30land it is.
00:31Nobody took it until Vít came and claimed Liberland as the new European country.
