00:02Uber shares traded higher in Thursday's pre-market session after the company expanded
00:06its autonomous vehicle operations in Japan, according to Benzinga. Uber Japan signed a
00:11partnership with Hinomaru Kotsu to manage fleet operations for a Tokyo robotaxi pilot scheduled
00:17to launch in late 2026. The pilot will use Nissan Leaf vehicles equipped with Wave's AI driver
00:22technology. According to a Memorandum of Understanding, Hinomaru Kotsu will handle
00:27depot operations, maintenance, inspections, charging and vehicle uptime, while Uber will
00:31make rides available through its app. Hinomaru Kotsu drivers will initially remain behind the
00:36wheel as safety operators. Fully driverless operations could follow, subject to regulatory
