Lysistrara — Lysistrara 1979 (Germany, Krautrock, Progressive Rock)
A single-album all-female rock band from Germany, formed in the spring of 1977. The record was released in June 1979 on a West Berlin private label in a limited edition. Musically, the album is a diverse cocktail of various styles, best described as German rock with elements of blues, rock 'n' roll, and progressive rock. Beneath the vocalist's massive presence, the instrumental highlights rarely shine through, although there is some decent flute and saxophone. The vocals are entirely in German and very aggressive.
