00:00A lorry driver has been given a suspended prison sentence after killing a cyclist in West London.
00:07Tristan Renshaw hit Zinovli Saviolak while turning left in a 44-ton tipper truck in Fulham in December 2022.
00:15Saviolak suffered catastrophic injuries and died at the scene.
00:19Renshaw was convicted of causing death by careless driving.
00:23He was sentenced to 18 months in custody, suspended for two years, and he was also given 150 hours of
00:31unpaid work and a 12-month driving ban.
00:33Judge Philip Katz, KC, said that Renshaw had avoided a prison sentence by the skin of his teeth.
00:40Renshaw said he did not realize he'd hit anyone until he was told.
