00:00To start off then. Highlights, lowlights?
00:03I suppose the lowlight was probably like the first time that everyone came back from the bear pit for the
00:09first time.
00:09They did genuinely just look really sort of shell-shocked.
00:14I think it scared all of us.
00:16Every one of us was so anxious then to go in there because it was like they came back and
00:20I actually had the worst anxiety.
00:22That's why I tried so much harder on the challenges.
00:24I heard that Mel B struck fear in the halves of everyone.
00:26Yeah, she did.
00:27Oh, she did.
00:27There's a reason she's scary spice, you know.
00:30Well, she was scared spice then.
00:33People were like, yeah, like it was these people, it was like they'd seen like the dark side of the
00:38moon or something.
00:38They came over like, oh, I can't even explain what it's like.
00:43The highlights were, I don't know, just like when the challenges went well were like amazing.
00:48Getting to celebrate with your team and stuff like that was really fun when we'd win and like we'd get
00:52a little treat or something as well.
00:55But yeah, there were lots of highlights.
00:57We had a talent show which was amazing.
00:58The talent show was fun.
00:59Yeah.
01:00There were lots of more highs I think than lows.
01:02Dinner time was good.
01:03Yeah.
01:03You managed to get away from Bear what?
01:05Four times?
01:06Yeah.
01:06Yeah?
01:07What an achievement?
01:08Yeah, yeah.
01:09And then, yeah, I did manage to get away from him for a bit but he got me in the
01:13end.
01:14Yeah, how's your knee?
01:14He got me, he got me, he first got me, he got me by the legs in the tunnel.
01:20He dragged me out of the tunnel by my legs.
01:23That was fun.
01:24I mean, it wasn't just the challenges though, was it?
01:26Because I mean straight away you guys were in the deep and meaningfuls.
01:30I mean, you really, really bonded as a group.
01:32I mean, Lottie, especially for you, how was it having those conversations and having that bonding?
01:35It's funny because everyone's said that so far, like how quickly we open up to each other.
01:39Yeah.
01:40But when you're stuck 24 hours a day with people, like things, and now when I watch like Love Island,
01:44I understand it because I'm like, people are like, why are they crying already?
01:47Like we, when you're stuck with people for that long, you really get to know people really quickly.
01:52And I think the borders just have to come down because you're doing these, you're working with people and you
01:57kind of see each other's strengths and weaknesses.
01:59Yeah.
01:59And I think I come in at quite a vulnerable point and I did this, I did, you know, Serbsy
02:03Bear Hunt because I wanted to challenge myself and I wanted to push myself.
02:07And I think I just went in and I just was like, realised like I am actually tougher than I
02:12think I am.
02:13Yeah.
02:14So I think like the realisation of like, you can do this, you know what I mean?
02:17Like I always am quite self-doubtful and going in and being able to like, you know, we won the
02:21first challenge.
02:22I was like, yeah, like I was like, I can do things, you know what I mean?
02:25I loved in the first episode, you sort of said one of the reasons you went in there was to
02:28get to know yourself as well.
02:29I mean, do you think the experience changed you?
02:31100%.
02:32Same question to you both as well.
02:33For everyone, I think we all definitely did, but I'll let you guys say, but yeah, no, definitely for me.
02:37Yeah.
02:38I think like you have to, because like you're being filmed all the time, you kind of have to drop
02:44whatever kind of performance you might be doing.
02:47So you have to sort of, yeah, you do quite quickly have to be quite vulnerable, I suppose.
02:52Yeah.
02:52And needing to kind of deal with that on your own, like away from the people in your life who
02:57would normally support you, like was quite challenging.
02:59Like it was, it's, yeah, like I think, and kind of get being able to kind of cope with that
03:06and come through it.
03:07I did feel like that was an achievement of sorts for me, I think.
03:12I mean, straight away, you're talking about how much you miss your wife.
03:15Yeah.
03:15Yeah.
03:15You're like, it's just like, she's my therapist as well and she's not here.
03:19Yeah.
03:19No, completely.
03:20No, I did.
03:20I realized that I basically, there's a bit, there's like a bit of every day where I basically just have
03:24to unload onto Hannah.
03:27Like, I, and I couldn't do that.
03:30And it was, that was weird.
03:32I could, I could actually almost feel it.
03:33I could almost feel like a lump in the day where I was, oh, that's when I would, that's when,
03:38yeah, because I just, yeah, we just speak all the time.
03:40Yeah.
03:41Um, and it was like, my body didn't quite know what was happening.
03:45So it was strange.
03:47I, I, I found the, the first bit of it, I found difficult.
03:49I had to adjust very, very quickly.
03:51It was, it was genuinely a learning curve.
03:53It was a very, very steep learning curve at the beginning.
03:55It was difficult.
03:56How was that first phone conversation when you got out of the camp?
03:59It was, yeah, it was, yeah, I think she, Hannah was, Hannah was basically at the beginning just hoping I
04:04went out really early.
04:05And I think she was just basically like, she was, she was annoyed that I'd really tried to, like, stay
04:13in.
04:14There was also like a, because we didn't have our phones for like, three weeks.
04:18And I did this thing of being like, oh my God, I'm going to have missed so many emails.
04:23I got out, turned on my phone.
04:24Nothing.
04:25Nothing.
04:26I had one email that had been sent that morning.
04:28So I'd already been out by that point.
04:29And it was my friend Ian saying, are you in Costa Rica?
04:32That was, that was basically, I was like, oh, I missed nothing.
04:35Did you write him like an essay back?
04:36Yeah, I wrote him an essay back.
04:37Yeah, thank you.
04:38Yes, this is why.
04:39Same, same question to you guys.
04:41Who was the first person you called when you were out?
04:43And I mean, your, your family and friends must be so proud of you.
04:46Yeah, my, my family and my friends, definitely.
04:49So I, yeah, I called my friends when I came out and I was like, oh my God, life has
04:52been so crazy.
04:53But, um, I almost like didn't know how to put everything into words.
04:56I think like it was really difficult to try and explain.
04:58And I was like, I kind of just want you guys to watch it and then see.
05:02I mean, how do you explain you guys, you've seen it like, you know, a bit of it.
05:05How do you explain that to people?
05:07Like, even watching it, my heart was pounding a little bit.
05:10So to be fair, I think you need to be in it to know it's like, it's no, I'm a
05:13celebrity.
05:13It's like, it's, it's the real, it's the real deal.
05:16I think I called my, my sister.
05:18Um, but, um, she, she didn't, she didn't actually realise I was gone.
05:24But, um, yeah.
05:26Um, yeah.
05:27Yeah.
05:27It was, it was quite good to know my phone.
05:30And then it was, uh, it was weird to get it back.
05:32Cause when you get it back, yeah, you're going through all the messages and you're like,
05:35ah, people have, people move on without you.
05:38Like, what you guys, you didn't miss me.
05:40I felt like not, not so much, not so much you, cause I feel like people, you were in people's
05:45sights as a potential winner.
05:46But you guys, you were described as very worried.
05:49Yes.
05:49Um, Lottie, I think Big Zoo says something disparaging about how you think you're in a holiday camp.
05:53Yeah.
05:54I mean.
05:54I hadn't realised until I saw the first episode that Sue really did not think much of us.
05:58Yeah, I really didn't.
05:59I didn't even know that.
05:59I haven't even watched it.
06:00I thought he was like, I thought we were okay too.
06:02Luckily we get to watch the first episode with him later.
06:05Yeah, I know.
06:06I was like, well what is this?
06:07You both turn to him at the same time.
06:08Yeah, we're going to be like this.
06:09Like, to your face.
06:10Unbelievable.
06:11Um, no, I didn't know that, cause I've actually not watched the episodes.
06:14So I, I went, I actually said I didn't want to watch it, but.
06:16He was cooking you guys.
06:17He says something along the lines of like, I think she thinks she's on holiday.
06:20Yeah.
06:20Which is fair, cause I think when I first went in I kind of thought like, it was me and
06:24Naomi,
06:24and I was like, oh my god babe, like we're going to have so much fun in here.
06:27She brought outfits, I brought like cute bikinis I was kind of planning on wearing.
06:31And I think like, and I think when you go on, like when you go on TV you want to
06:34look cute.
06:35Yeah.
06:35But by like literally maybe like the third episode I'm like absolute giving up.
06:40Like a complete, I was like no makeup.
06:42Hair's frizzy.
06:43Like it was just, yeah, you can't care at that point.
06:46I hadn't realised quite how worried I look in normal circumstances.
06:49That was a genuine surprise.
06:51I, and I didn't realise that that was like, I was like, oh, that's my thing.
06:55I always wonder what my thing was.
06:56It's like, I wasn't worried.
06:58And so that was a bit odd, but I don't think I was quite as worried.
07:03And I've got a really worried face, I think.
07:05So I always look like.
07:06Resting worried face.
07:06Resting worried face.
07:07Yeah.
07:08When I was younger, people would stop me.
07:09People I didn't know would stop me and say, are you okay?
07:11Because I looked like.
07:14That happened regularly when I was young.
07:16So I know that I kind of look.
07:18I think I'm just, I was thinking, you know, I'm thinking, I suppose.
07:21But I'm not able to think without looking really sort of scared.
07:24So, yeah.
07:25And I can see now that Sue was worried.
07:27But we won that.
07:28We won that.
07:28We won that time.
07:29We showed him, didn't we?
07:29We did.
07:30We did.
07:30Yeah.
07:30I mean, something came over you during that bridge.
07:34Yeah.
07:34I mean, did you know that you had that in you just to be like, right?
07:38No, not really.
07:38No.
07:38I think you just, you're not really used to having, to being that adrenalized like normally.
07:43So it does, you lose your inhibitions when you have adrenaline.
07:47So you do become quite focused.
07:50That was something I realized in the show is that like adrenaline focuses you.
07:53Mm-hmm.
07:54You can put stuff to one side and just get something done.
07:57If you've got this particular like chemical cocktail in your body.
08:01It's weird.
08:02You kind of realize that you're kind of like an animal.
08:04Like that this almost chemical mix will get you through rather than your thoughts.
08:10I always think I can think everything through.
08:12Like everything's about sort of little systems.
08:16And it turns out that's just not the case.
08:19That's something I'm trying to sort of hold on to actually.
08:22Yeah.
08:23It's easy to forget, I think.
08:24We all tend to kind of think that everything's about our thoughts.
08:27And sometimes it's a bit simpler than that, I think.
08:30Yeah.
08:30We did a happiness campaign with Hello.
08:33Oh, cool.
08:34Where one of the things we learned was that happiness is found out of your comfort zone.
08:37Yes.
08:37Would you say that that was the case for you guys on Bear Hunt?
08:41Yeah, definitely.
08:42Kind of, yeah.
08:43Yeah.
08:43What do you mean by that?
08:44As in like that you will, it sparks joy not to sound like Marie Kondo.
08:49No, but I don't, yeah.
08:49That you will actually feel doing things that push you out of your comfort zone and things that you don't
08:53want to do will actually make you feel.
08:55Yeah, yeah.
08:55If it works.
08:57Yeah.
08:58We don't.
08:59I don't know.
09:00You learn something either way.
09:02Sometimes even if it doesn't work, I think that even the experience of failure, I mean, in the time it's
09:06pretty horrible.
09:07But like, even if you tried something and failed, afterwards you tend to look at it.
09:12Kind of like, I'm not going to do that again.
09:15I thought there was so much that we did, like, even if you didn't like win the challenge or whatever,
09:19like, in terms of especially that first challenge, like, I think even if you didn't manage to win, like the
09:25other team didn't win, you still managed to conquer that.
09:28I feel like Shirley was terrified of heights.
09:29She still did the challenge.
09:31Do you know what I mean?
09:32Like, even though she didn't win.
09:33That was amazing.
09:34She still conquered her fear.
09:34Yeah.
09:35I agree with that.
09:36I think so.
09:37And there's so many things that you wouldn't do because you're scared and then when you do them, you realise
09:41you're really good at it or something and then you're like, wow.
09:43Yeah.
09:44It was amazing.
09:44And what are you going to take away from this experience?
09:47Are you right back to, you know, being nervous, having rested worried faces?
09:53I think one thing I felt was that, like, I don't quite know how I sort of apply this in
09:57my life, but, like, one of the things I was bad at was, like, I always tend to just stick
10:02to a plan no matter what, like, doggedly stick to a plan and not kind of shift track to something
10:07else.
10:07So maybe just be a bit more flexible.
10:09I don't know.
10:10Yeah, breezy.
10:12Yeah.
10:13And what about you guys?
10:14Um, just like, just kind of like, take it easy a bit, you know?
10:20I get quite competitive.
10:24I get quite competitive, you know, coming from my past in sports and whatever.
10:30And, um, I, you know, I can get into a little bit of a huff.
10:34And, um, yeah, it happened.
10:36It happened quite a lot.
10:38And, um, yeah.
10:39It's annoying to lose.
10:40I'd rather just like, just like, yeah, just not take it so seriously, but I can't because it's not, it's
10:46not, it's not, it's not me.
10:47It wouldn't have been else fun to watch if you guys weren't taking it seriously, though.
10:50Yeah, do you know what I mean?
10:51If everyone was just Lawrence, yeah.
10:53Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
10:54You know what I mean?
10:55But, um, but, yeah, I just, I think, you know, I did get better, kind of.
11:00Mm-mm.
11:01Yeah, definitely.
11:02Definitely.
11:02Yeah, I think you were just, like, very passionate about it.
11:05Well, I've taken away lots of, like, I've met lots of new people and spoken to lots of new people.
11:09I think that was...
11:09Oh, peace.
11:11No, I think, like, I really learned so much about so many people, like, that I wouldn't have spent time
11:16with and stuff.
11:16And, yeah, I think just taking away the experience was incredible.
11:20Like, I would have never, you know, hung off a helicopter or would have never abselled off a cliff had
11:26it not been for this show.
11:27So, yeah.
11:28Like, okay.inner
11:28story form. And,
11:30yeah. Very good.
11:30Yeah. Very
11:32de fear. Right? I'm
11:32I'm fine.
11:32some of the practices are where you've got this verse and was I've covered to her farm because
11:32I know I'm going to still give a fact because all of you are gonna like you're gonna
11:32be a big fan of gold because I know I'm going to know, you're away the thank you guys.
11:32So, well go.
