00:00Congratulations on the show. It's so fantastic.
00:03My heart was pounding watching it.
00:05Yeah, mine too.
00:06Terrifying person.
00:08You're a terrifying person.
00:09I'm really not a terrifying person.
00:11It is a different side of you, though.
00:13Through those gates, I do say the gloves are off and might not be as nice.
00:20But that's part of it.
00:21And that's why Holly, to be honest, was such a great foil,
00:24because then they can come back a bit bedraggled or broken
00:27and then get some Holly patching up, exactly.
00:30I mean, Holly, for you, from the studio to the jungle,
00:33what a massive transition.
00:36Big ear change.
00:37Big ear change.
00:37I mean, what made you make that decision and why now?
00:41I think that, throughout life, it's good to change things up sometimes.
00:45Of course.
00:45And it's good to challenge yourself.
00:47And, you know, in the same way that those celebrities were going into this
00:50to sort of challenge themselves and see what they were made of,
00:52I think in a way I was like, right, why not?
00:54And I think I just, it came along at the right time.
00:57I didn't know it was going to happen.
00:58When Bear called and said, there's this show, what do you think?
01:02I thought, yeah, yes, count me in.
01:05It's an adventure.
01:06And who better to go on an adventure with than Bear?
01:08One of the things, we did a happiness campaign at Hello,
01:11and one of the things we learned from it was,
01:14happiness comes from coming out of your comfort zone.
01:18I couldn't agree more.
01:18Did it spark joy for you?
01:20Definitely.
01:20Definitely.
01:22But do you know what?
01:22I think everybody on this show was taken out of their comfort zone.
01:26They really were, you know, not just me.
01:29Like, obviously the celebrities taking part,
01:31but all of us being picked up and plonked in Costa Rica,
01:34the heat, the environment, the wildlife.
01:37And I think that you do, everybody benefits from that.
01:41And you really see it with the celebs because they, like, fundamentally change.
01:46They all take something away with them.
01:48They all learn something about themselves.
01:49And all of those skills they learn in the jungle are so transferable to everyday life.
01:55Now, Bear, this is your comfort zone.
01:57This is very much your wheelhouse.
01:58You look like you're in your happy place.
02:00Did you just have the best time?
02:02And how did you help Holly and pull Holly into your world?
02:05Holly's so sweet.
02:06She's always saying I helped her.
02:07I really don't think I did help her.
02:09I think she's kind of...
02:10I don't know.
02:11I've learned that you're tougher than you maybe realize.
02:14She's got a great survivor heart.
02:16I think all of us are kind of feel everyday moments of, like, anxiety.
02:21I mean, definitely, I was always nervous before every hunt.
02:24It's like it's on and there's pressure in there.
02:27But I do think dealing with fear and pressure is a muscle.
02:30I think the more you do, the more familiar you get with it.
02:33I said to all of the celebs on day one, you're going to feel moments of high intensity and adrenaline.
02:39Learn to manage it.
02:40You know, this is training.
02:41Consider that bear pit training.
02:43Some people elevate in that.
02:45Some crumble.
02:46And that is a show.
02:47You see some go this way and some go that way.
02:50But at the end, some really unique people are there.
02:54And I feel that the person that won that, this whole show at the end, it's like they really earned
02:59that.
03:00I agree.
03:01Absolutely.
03:01I read a mantra of yours, which is courage, kindness and never give up.
03:05And I felt like you both have that in spades.
03:08I mean, what did you learn from each other?
03:10What's making this?
03:11Well, I think the thing that I learned from bear the most actually, and I think it's a really important
03:15lesson for me,
03:16because I have spent my entire life, even since I was little, being scared of everything.
03:20And quite often we'll take the easy road out because then I don't have to test myself and then I
03:25don't know if I'm going to be terrified or something.
03:27And I just assumed that bear was kind of this guy that would, you know, leap out of planes in
03:32his sleep and was never fearful of anything and just didn't have that thing like the rest of us.
03:36Like almost like a superpower. And actually, he does feel the fear, but he just chooses, you've learned to deal
03:43with it in a way of facing it.
03:44And I thought, oh, right. OK, maybe I just need to be a little bit more bear.
03:49And it's not like leaping out of a plane, but it is just going.
03:52It's all right. It's actually all right to feel scared.
03:55Totally. It's part of life, isn't it?
03:57Life is scary. Jungles are scary. These sort of, you know, new things are scary.
04:02But like all the good stuff in life lies on the other side.
04:05The fear, the doubt, the struggle, the pain, the discomfort.
04:09So I've learned it. Keep going. Keep moving forward.
04:12And Holly, you didn't jump out of a plane, but you were leaning out of a helicopter.
04:16I was like, do you know what? I love that.
04:18Really? I love that. I mean, that was my thing.
04:20I was like, just say yes. Just say yes to everything.
04:21It was like, do you want to sit outside of a helicopter? Yes, I do.
04:24And it was only then when I was sitting there, I was like, oh, my God, I'm literally looking at
04:27my feet and there's the sea there and I'm hanging outside of this helicopter.
04:31This is weird. I'm meant to be sitting on a sofa.
04:34I think it brought out a good kind of primal side of you. I did really like it.
04:38I think we're only just beginning on this journey.
04:41I love it. It's brilliant. I have to talk about the fact that it's with Netflix as well.
04:45So exciting. I mean, we are the nation knows and loves both of you, obviously, but this is the world.
04:50I mean, how excited are you to see it go out to everyone?
04:54And I mean, it's next up Hollywood. Pun intended.
04:57I don't know about that. But I think that, you know, what Netflix tells best is tell great stories to
05:03so many people.
05:04And I think that it's exciting to have this story to tell, isn't it? Because this feels very new and
05:10very fresh and unique.
05:11So, yeah, it's lovely to be part of it.
05:14You wait. It's quite fun then seeing it translated into all these other languages.
05:18I haven't seen that.
05:19Well, the thing is that the one language is universal is that life is scary.
05:23You've got to keep moving towards it. Yeah.
05:25Whether it's a snake, a crocodile, a jungle, new job, whatever it is, you know, so that's a universal language.
05:31And I just, I don't know, I'm excited for people all over the world to see this and kind of
05:36say, do you know what?
05:38We can do it. Yeah. Here we go. Yeah.
05:41Because he was saying how much he was looking forward to seeing all his phrases dubbed as well, actually.
05:44Yeah. I can't wait.
05:47I know that faith and spirituality, sorry, are really important to you in that you've called your faith your secret
05:54strength.
05:54And Holly, obviously, Wild Moon is your passion project. Did your beliefs help you while filming this one?
06:01I think that obviously it's a very kind of unique thing to all of us, isn't it?
06:07Yeah. Like what we feel and what we think. But yes, I think, you know, I, yeah, I think so.
06:12I think you have to have that inside, don't you? And feel that and have that self-belief and hope
06:19and all those things.
06:20So, yeah, definitely in all walk of life. Yeah.
06:23What do they say? Believe in yourself, believe in each other, believe in the almighty and you got it.
06:28There you go. I love it. It's part of, it's like a survivor's arsenal, isn't it? You know, it's not
06:32just physical and emotional.
06:34You need a bit of everything. This is really, genuinely, I'm like having to write this down because I just
06:39go into everything like, ah, so.
06:41Honestly, you will find things in this that even if you're not in a jungle environment, because that's what I
06:45thought.
06:45I was like, God, this is so important for everybody. Like the take home on this is like really important.
06:51Yeah.
06:52Like, honestly, it really helped me, the whole thing. I really loved it.
06:57I love it. I love it. And I know in your Netflix interview about the show, you're saying how one
07:01of the reasons is because your kids love Bear so much.
07:03Yeah. Yeah.
07:04Have they met him?
07:05Well, tonight is the, tonight is the night. So they were, they're going to come down and meet Bear.
07:10I think we've said hello on the phone.
07:12Yeah. There's been some face times when we're away.
07:14They sound like such cool kids.
07:16Yeah, they are.
07:17We'll have good fun tonight. It'll be good.
07:18Yeah.
07:19Premier Leicester Square.
07:20It's raining. If it ain't raining, it ain't training.
07:23Smile when it's raining.
07:24Isn't that it? Smile when it's raining.
07:25Smile when it's raining.
07:26Yeah. Get the glamour flowers on.
07:27Yeah.
07:29And season two, what were we saying? Are you up for it?
07:32Well, obviously, like we love this show and now we're kind of handing it over to everyone to watch for
07:39the first time.
07:40So who knows what's going to happen? I think we just got to focus on this one and just take
07:44everything day by day.
07:46Yeah, I like that. You've got to stay laser focused on what's in front of you. Do that while everything
07:50else follows.
07:51It's so exciting that everyone's seeing it tonight because it's your birthday next week as well.
07:55It is my birthday.
07:56It's a birthday present for you.
07:57I know. It's my birthday. I know.
07:59Yeah. God, nearly. Yeah. 44 next week.
08:01Am I 44? 43? 44.
08:03See, that's what happens when you get to the future.
08:06Completely don't know how old you are. I think I'm 44.
08:09But I'm taking on something so new.
08:11Yes.
08:13But that's what you should do.
08:14I did notice that hitting 40 actually.
08:15I was a bit more like, right, I'm just gonna like throw caution to the wind a little bit.
08:20And I also think it's because I'm that age and my kids are a bit older.
08:23Yeah.
08:23I've got a bit more space. You know, they're not babies anymore.
08:27Like they don't even need to be there all the time.
08:28So I feel like, you know, this is one of the joys of getting older.
08:32You know, you get a bit more time back to do crazy things, sit on the side of a helicopter.
08:36And also there's a power to that, you know, you kind of screw it, let's do it.
08:40Like all in. Say yes.
08:42Yeah.
08:42You know, it's like these people don't teach you this at school.
08:45You kind of end up figuring it out just through life.
08:47And with a jungle or a career, it's good. You know, why not?
08:51I love it. I love it. And if there is a season two, which I feel like there has to
08:55be any ideal celebrity guests for the lineup.
09:00Well, I don't know. I'm always kind of super mindful of never flagging guests ahead of it.
09:04I've definitely got a wish list. I've definitely got some cool places we could do this.
09:09I've definitely figured out how to up the ante.
09:11But right now, laser focus on this.
09:14Also, it's kind of showing the world a totally new format.
09:16So it's kind of there's a little bit of process for that.
09:18But I think people are going to, God willing, love this.
