00:14So, let's get started with today's top stories.
00:20Our first story, Finovation supports community development program in Bilaspur.
00:26Finovation partnered with a leading manufacturer of calcined petroleum coke for a community
00:31level program in Bilaspur.
00:33The initiative focused on water, sanitation, hygiene and environmental awareness across
00:38Nayapara Parsada and Parsada Awas villages.
00:42Around 700 households were sensitized on clean water and hygiene practices, while 6,000 litre
00:48water tanks were constructed in both villages.
00:50Changing units were also developed to improve privacy for women, along with a new staircase
00:55for safer access to a local pond.
00:57The program also included environmental awareness and tree plantation drives to encourage community
01:02participation in sustainability.
01:05Moving ahead to our next story, Sikkim Governor calls for greater CSR investment.
01:10Governor Om Prakash Mathur has urged pharmaceutical companies to increase their CSR investments towards
01:16local development and community welfare.
01:19During a meeting with leading pharma companies, the governor highlighted the need for greater CSR
01:24support in rural development, healthcare, education and environmental conservation.
01:30The initiative aims to strengthen government-industry collaboration and ensure that CSR benefits
01:35reach communities at the grassroots level.
01:37Moving to environmental sustainability, Hydra plans sewage treatment for restored lakes.
01:43The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Acid Protection Agency, or Hydra, is set to introduce sewage treatment
01:48systems in restored lakes, beginning with Balm Ruknut Daula Lake.
01:52The pilot project will use a nature-based wastewater treatment technology developed by Bitspilani's
01:58Goa campus under a CSR initiative.
02:00The low-cost system is designed to reduce pollution, improve water quality and support ecological restoration.
02:06If successful, the model could be expanded to other lakes across Hyderabad.
02:11Moving ahead to our next story, Karnataka targets Rs. 9,700 crore in CSR funds by 2028-29.
02:19The state is targeting CSR investments of around Rs. 9,700 crore by financial year 2028-29 as
02:27it seeks to increase its share of India's CSR funding.
02:30Karnataka currently received around Rs. 3,394 crore in CSR spending during FY 2024-25 with
02:38a significant share directed towards education.
02:41The state is also looking to increase CSR investments beyond Bengaluru with a focus on
02:46education, healthcare and development across other cities and regions.
02:50Moving to our final story, Karnataka plans 2,000 CSR-supported schools.
02:55In a major push for government school education, Karnataka Chief Minister D.K.
02:59Shiva Kumar has announced plans to develop 2,000 schools with CSR support.
03:04He urged companies to use CSR funds to improve government school infrastructure, including
03:09classrooms, laboratories, computers and other facilities.
03:12The chief minister also proposed dedicated monitoring of CSR spending and encouraged private
03:17educational institutions to adopt government schools.
03:21The initiative aims to strengthen rural education and reduce migration driven by the search for
03:26better educational opportunities.
03:27The initiative demonstrates how CSR can support smarter urban mobility while enhancing public
03:33safety and emergency response.
