00:17I'm getting into it in the Orange County first ever Hall of Fame today right now.
00:32No doubt she'll be upstaging all of us as she just stands here.
00:36I am just absolutely honored to be inducted with an incredible recipient of the first ever Orange County Hall of
00:44Fame.
00:45Yes, I grew up on a cul-de-sac in Westside, Anaheim, across the street from the Strawberry Field and
00:52Tom's Farmers Market.
00:53My entire world was between Euclid Street and Hartman Boulevard.
00:58Friday nights were Mama Coza's Pizza and shopping was the Anaheim Plaza.
01:03And for us, walking to Disneyland Hotel and being able to experience the Dancing Waters or running out of the
01:08house at 9.30 every single night in the summertime to watch the Disneyland fireworks was the normal thing that
01:15we did in our family.
01:16It was literally like Disneyland was our backyard.
01:20And people came from all over the world to work here.
01:23It brought so much diversity and that had such an impact on my style and my individuality musically and creatively.
01:31Our neighborhood was Palm Lane Elementary School, Ball Junior High School, Loera High School, Fullerton College, Cypress College.
01:41I'm really smart. I went to all these schools.
01:43And finally, yes, finally I transferred to Cal State Fullerton.
01:47And Orange County is where my dreams were born and the foundation that shaped my life.
01:55Anaheim, California is my roots. It's my culture. And I've never left Anaheim behind.
02:00It's always been with me. I've been able to share it with the world through my songs, through my style.
02:06And I've always had such a surprise and gratitude for where I've come from.
02:11Thank you. This is an incredible, amazing, mind-blowing honor.
02:15And I love you guys. Thank you so much.
