00:00The first time that I ever met Gwen was in 2014.
00:05She wasn't like any other famous person that I had ever met before.
00:10She drove herself to work in a black minivan with car seats in it.
00:18She didn't roll in with security.
00:20She came in with a baby and two little boys,
00:24which at the time worked like security because nobody was going near, it was chaos.
00:35It was clear to me that she was a mother first and foremost over anything else in the world.
00:43That was her number one job.
00:46And now standing here almost ten years later after I first met her,
00:51I can say without question that being a mother is still the most important thing in her life.
01:01And I've got to tell you all, that's rare in this business.
01:07But today, it's nice to see her honored for her side project,
01:13which is being one of the biggest stars in the world.
01:19In my opinion, Gwen is the perfect person to receive a star on the Walk of Fame.
01:25From music, television, and movies, to fashion and beauty,
01:29she has risen to the top over and over again with her unique style
01:33that has made the world fall in love with her.
01:37Not as much as me, though.
01:40And then there's that one thing that no one can ever explain.
01:44It's that thing that she was just born with that will make you stop and go,
01:49Wait, who is that?
01:51What's her name?
01:52What does she do?
01:54Why do I love her already?
01:56What the hell?
01:59That's the thing that God gives you.
02:01And without question, God gave Gwen an extra scoop of it.
02:07What makes me the happiest for Gwen, though,
02:09is that this all started with a song that she wrote.
02:15Songwriting is her favorite thing to do.
02:18And she happens to be exceptionally talented at it.
02:23Yes.
02:25If you take a look at Gwen's discography over the years,
02:29from the early days of No Doubt to her solo records,
02:32there's one common denominator on 99% of the songs,
02:37Gwen Stefani, the songwriter.
02:40Gwen has blessed a lot of people's lives
02:42with her songwriting talent in more ways than one.
02:48Now, I know firsthand that it takes a lot of people to make a hit record,
02:52but none of this would have ever happened
02:54without Gwen Stefani, the songwriter.
02:57So congratulations to my all-time favorite songwriter on your star.
03:03You deserve this, and I love you.
03:06Thank you so much.
03:08Thank you so much.
