00:00Hi everyone. I don't normally do videos but I thought I'd give this a go.
00:05You'll have to excuse the no makeup look. I'm only out of bed just recently as I'm guessing
00:11other patients will understand. So today is my two year anniversary. I was diagnosed two years ago
00:18today and I'm feeling really lucky in lots of ways obviously to still be here but also
00:26to have had no regrowth in that time. Some positive things are happening. I'm reapplying for my
00:33driver's license which you know two years ago I never thought would happen but it is definitely
00:40a celebration of contradictory emotions I think. You know I don't really want to have to be
00:47celebrating being alive in my 30s but lots of people just take that for granted because you're
00:53only in your 30s. And then also reliving the diagnosis itself and the surgery and everything
01:03that came before and immediately after that which was all pretty scary. You know sitting
01:08in A&E and finding out that my migraines that I'd apparently been having for six months were
01:14in fact a glioblastoma. So it's kind of a day of ups and downs but I think I still very
01:23much feel
01:24that you know although the future is scary that my achievements, our achievements can't be taken
01:31away from us. So I've hit this mark and that can't be taken away. And the last two years have
01:36not
01:37been awful by any stretch. I've had a really amazing time in so many ways. Doing all the charity work,
01:45being a patron with Brain Trimmer Research, I've celebrated birthdays and Christmases with loved ones,
01:53I've had lovely holidays, I've had some really special experiences and made great memories. And by being
02:03well now it means I'm going to make some really big events this summer including my best friend's
02:09wedding and hen do, some events with Brain Trimmer Research in Scotland, all sorts of things that I
02:18suppose two years ago I couldn't have even imagined I would still be here for. So this really is supposed
02:26to be a positive message especially for those who've been newly diagnosed. Keep having hope. If I can do it,
02:33then so can you.
