00:00This is Pascal, and you are joining us from Gaza, from ICRC.
00:12Pascal, good morning or good afternoon, and thank you for joining us. I'm sorry to hold you up.
00:19I just wanted to hear a little bit about what's going on out there, Pascal, and how you're all coping.
00:26I have to admit that what I see here, it's really, I don't even have words anymore to describe what
00:33we're seeing, what we are hearing.
00:35I'm doing that job for the last 30 years. I'm head of delegation for the ICRC for more than 20
00:41years.
00:41I was the head of delegation in Ukraine last year, and in many of the crises, I was in Afghanistan,
00:45Syria.
00:47And this is, you know, something that is, I think, unprecedented.
00:52It will remain quite of a dark page of history. I think history will remember what happened here.
00:59The scope of the need is just, yeah, unbelievable.
01:04And as I speak, I was just looking outside. We see huge colon of clouds over Hanunis.
01:10We, bombing started again in Gaza.
01:13It's an extremely kinetic type of warfare and massive use of weapon-intensive populated area.
01:22Here, we are roughly 5 kilometers from Gaza, 5 kilometers from Hanunis.
01:27And when we see the bombing here, we cannot not only hear them, but we can feel them.
01:32We can feel the shockwave, so you can imagine the distress it is for the local population.
01:40A local population that was forced to move several times with a health system that is totally collapsed.
01:49And, you know, a hospital needs not only to be protected as a structure,
01:54but if the supply of drugs, of fuel, of stuff is not guaranteed.
