00:05now have the task of planning their big day.
00:08The couple ended months of speculation by announcing their engagement
00:11and William revealed he used his mother Diana, Princess of Wales, engagement ring
00:16to propose as a way of honouring her memory.
00:19Well, as you may recognise now, it's my mum's engagement ring.
00:23So, of course, it's very special to me.
00:26Kate's very special to me now as well.
00:27It's only right that the two are put together.
00:29But it was my way of making sure that my mother didn't miss out on today
00:33and the excitement and the fact that we're going to spend the rest of our lives together.
00:37A date for the wedding hasn't been set,
00:39but it will take place in either spring or summer next year.
00:43The couple will now be meeting with royal advisers
00:46to help them choose everything from the date and location of the ceremony
00:49down to the stationery used for the guests' invitations.
00:53The wedding is expected to take place in London
00:56with prospective venues including St. Paul's, where William's parents were married,
01:00or Westminster Abbey, where the Queen married and Princess Diana's funeral was held.
01:06A St. James's Palace spokesman stressed that the couple would be very hands-on
01:10and involved in organising the details of the event,
01:13adding they would also be mindful of the economic situation.
01:17The creation of the bride's dress and which designer will be given the commission
01:21will be something for Miss Middleton to decide alone
01:24and will generate much media speculation.
01:27For the past six months, Miss Middleton has spent part of the week
01:30living with William in a rented cottage in North Wales.
01:34The couple are expected to set up home there following their marriage.
