00:00Hi there, it's Lorraine here and I was just wondering if like me, you're finding it a little
00:05bit more difficult these days to get to sleep. I don't know whether it's the change in the weather,
00:11whether it's what's going on in the world, but I'm finding it really hard to get off to sleep
00:15and then I'm waking up two or three times during the night, sometimes with really, really weird
00:20dreams. I was talking to our Dr Hilary about this and he said the main thing is to get rid
00:26of your
00:27mobile phone. Don't have it in your bedroom or your iPad or anything like that. Make sure that
00:33you charge them up away from where you're sleeping and he's absolutely right because I don't know
00:38about you, but I go into this, look at something on YouTube and two hours later, that's it, you're
00:45down a rabbit hole and then of course your brain's all stimulated and you can't get to sleep. It's
00:50really difficult. Also no booze before you go to bed, don't have coffee, don't have tea, try not to
00:55eat too late and try and de-stress. Now, I'm not sure about all the kind of meditation thing.
01:02It's just that word sort of makes me think, oh, I get a bit intimidated, but actually it is just
01:07about clearing your mind a wee bit and just trying to sort of decompress is very good. But you know
01:14what? If all else fails, I have got my trusty Ben Shepard blanket. And even if you can't get to
01:22sleep,
01:23you've got something nice to look at. Sweet dreams.
