00:10i had honestly you have me i'm the sister you have yeah okay i like it and you know
00:20she left me with that gem so when she left i i was able to keep going without having my
00:25backbone
00:26which is kind of what she became my first impression of josephine was first of all because i looked up
00:45the show from before i came so i knew everyone and then to see her in person she was so
00:52beautiful
00:53she was so kind and i was starstruck i was i was starstruck um but then she came to me
01:00and she was
01:01so nice and i'm like okay and she just really wanted me to be okay and offered to teach me
01:10french and all those lovely things we'll get into that but my first impression was starstruck
01:18um i was very excited to discover who the new girl would be so i must admit i googled i
01:24googled
01:24her we all do this we google each other and i was like oh my god i was so excited
01:30to meet her i thought
01:32she was absolutely beautiful you are fancy oh my god it's gonna be all love i'm telling you this
01:39interview pretty much all love i remember i sent you a whatsapp message just to welcome you because
01:47i know how it feels like to be the new girl the new guy on set in a show that's
01:52been running for so
01:53long it's like a family already um and shanti was so cute oh my god she was a bit shy
01:59at first it's
02:00normal i mean she doesn't she didn't know anybody um she was a bit like what am i doing here
02:06and i
02:07remember she was just reading her book in between the takes very shy very very lovely and then
02:13and then i discovered the real shanti
02:18which i love oh she's crazy she's crazy she's hilarious that girl is so funny you have no idea
02:32um she's i mean she's really talented um really into her work i mean when she's on set she's really
02:38serious and that's what i like about it funny she likes to work out just as i as much as
02:44i do so this
02:45is something we have in common um for me she's a superstar i mean she's a strong woman she's younger
02:51than me but she's like she's really mature really mature person oh josey
03:05i'm really i'm really sensitive about um energies people's energies and i felt that shanty's was just
03:13so positive and so pure and you know i love women i mean i'm a real like girl power girl
03:20and i know in this industry it's really difficult because it's there's a lot of men it's basically
03:25like a man industry we're far away from home for so long i've been through this before so i know
03:31what
03:31it's like and i wish i had someone to help me um sarah sarah martin who was uh playing camille
03:39before
03:39me helped me too so i i had the feeling that i have to do it for someone else and
03:45and i just shanty
03:46the first time i saw that face i was like oh my god i'm obsessed with you shanty
03:54so yeah when we when we started to talk to each other and you know i asked a question about
03:59her
03:59i really wanted to find her a little nickname which is shanty now um you know that kind of stuff
04:05that
04:05build friendship and yeah when we started to work out together this is this is this was when i
04:11discovered i mean her real personality the strong woman she was and day after the onset she became
04:16more and more comfortable and you know she was opening more to people and i'm really happy that
04:21she did that and she had a good time it was very important for me you know what um as
04:26soon as i got
04:27to set uh mainly like the first my first day on set or my first few days on set josephine
04:34would come
04:35over and she as you said i would i was reading in between takes and i was to myself a
04:40bit because you
04:41know i'm just feeling out the place but she she would come over and she said are you okay and
04:46she'd
04:46ask me frequently are you okay and one day i said i'm okay why do you keep asking if i'm
04:52okay and she
04:52said you know i just really want you to be okay and i really want you to have a good
04:58time i want you
04:59to have fun and enjoy the process and i just want you to know that you know i'm here for
05:06anything
05:06and i thought i thought that was really sweet you know and then um she would because guadeloupe they
05:14speak french right and josephine is french and i started using this baby app called duolingo to
05:20help me learn french and um i told her about it and so when we'd come on set she'd insist
05:28sometimes
05:29that i have to speak in french and she would help me with my french and i was like
05:34you know what she's very nice this is very chill and she honestly wants to help me and you can
05:42sense
05:42when someone wants you to do well and be your best and um i got that from her instantly and
05:48it was so
05:49sweet and the fact that i was there by myself i was like wow i can find family elsewhere and
05:54that's
05:55what she became yeah so it was very early on i realized that this will be my partner here and
06:02you
06:02know i was very sad and she yeah i know me too i was really sad to leave you i
06:10felt like i was
06:11abandoning you like you did that is what you did it's true it's true
06:21when i left she took over and she became the new detective and i watched the episodes
06:27and i was really really proud of her because she she does really well she's she's perfect and i'm like
06:34oh my god my baby has become like a woman it's like my baby and she's you know now she's
06:42there
06:43yeah yeah i'm really happy and i'm really really happy for you i'm really proud janty you're like
06:48perfect my proudest moment and i was there in person and then i watched it and i was like wow
06:58this girl is really good and it was um when we were when you were doing that goodbye scene
07:05um when you were leaving um you know i know how hard it was for her to do that scene
07:14and she killed it like she killed it and there's something she always said to me she said listen no
07:24matter what's going on no matter how you're feeling just go on camera and look your best
07:30do you and be your absolute best and she killed that scene and then i watched it and i was
07:37like wow
07:37this girl is she's amazing you know so i that was my proudest moment to see how you handled that
07:44and how beautifully you did it and it was just i was like okay i can do this i can
07:53do this
07:54of course you can
07:57we did so her last day on set was a scene that we did together i mean
08:02it was actually a retake and i remember how excited she was that the last scene was a scene
08:07with both of us we're both so happy it was bittersweet because i'm like oh we're doing a
08:12scene together but then you have to leave after this and i remember um at the end the producers
08:18came up and everything and we all did a clap and dan did a lovely speech
08:22and i couldn't look at her oh she was going around hugging everyone and i said no leave me alone
08:29it was running away from me because i knew because i was going into a scene right after that and
08:35my eyes
08:36were already tearing i was trying to hold up but i knew the moment she came into my space i
08:42would break
08:42down and it you know it would take a time some time for me to come back so i was
08:47like leave me alone
08:48i'll see you later we'll do this another time i was a bit frustrated but i understood
08:53you know but she wouldn't even want to look at me we had a photo shoot the the same morning
09:00she was like stay away stay away yeah but then after that you saw at the end when it was
09:07done i was
09:11balling
09:16it was definitely just shine on set on screen just shine no matter what's happening because
09:24we do have some difficult days you know you're away from home for a long time and
09:31um some days are good some days are better but her thing was always shine on screen just always do
09:40your best even when you're feeling down or you feel like you're not good enough in the scene or
09:45you feel like you're um you feel like you have to step back for whatever reason she's always like no
09:50step up and take command of the space this is your space you have a right to be here
09:57and do your absolute best and it's i saw that with with her scene that she did like everything that
10:04she said to me i saw her doing it in front of me and i was like wow it's just
10:10so beautiful and she
10:11really really empowered me and you know she left me with that gem so when she left i i was
10:17able to
10:18keep going without having my backbone which is kind of what she became
10:27you know i learned a lot from shanti a lot because sometimes i'm impressed i know it's like
10:35she's so strong because she looks like an angel you know she has a pure face she's so beautiful but
10:40let
10:40me tell you that woman is so strong inside so strong i i mean i love you shanti i always
10:48say in my
10:48interviews like your sister you're like the sister i wish i had honestly you have me
10:54i'm the sister you have yeah okay i like it okay fine
11:02no it's funny because shanti she's like i can sense when something is wrong because i think i know you
11:08but she's always stays so elegant you know no matter what happens around her she's like i'm gonna close
11:15the doors all the bad vibes all the things that bother me this is not gonna get to me and
11:21this
11:21is something it took me time to do it um and she's younger than me and she already knows how
11:28to handle
11:29this and this is something i'm really impressed by i mean she's like i'm a queen boom i'm gonna do
11:37my job
11:37no matter what happens around me i don't give up you know what i mean
11:44and this is something yeah i'm working on every day but she knows how to do this
