00:01Hey guys, here's the daily essential for today. This is Oscar Wilde. What seems to us as bitter
00:08trials are often blessings in disguise. Yes, anybody who's been through struggle knows
00:15that usually, no actually sometimes it's harder to see, but every time within every struggle
00:21there is some sort of gift, right? How do you find the gift? Because some people really just
00:28can't find the gift, right? I think, I guess there's a few different ways you could look at it.
00:33One is, look at now, you know what that feels like. So sometimes bitter trials are the things
00:40that we fear most, right? We would call failing something or losing a contest that you entered
00:45that you were so afraid of losing. Those are bitter trials, right? Having a health scare. These are
00:49bitter trials going through divorce, a relationship ending. These are bitter trials, right? But what
00:54we learned on the other side is that we are strong enough to survive them. That's one of the biggest
00:59fears that we all have. And knowing that we're strong enough to survive even something that difficult
01:04gives us more confidence and strength to face our future and all that's coming with it. Also,
01:12oftentimes we learn something like, okay, so if it's a relationship that didn't work, well,
01:17why didn't it work? You know, if you take the time to go, hey, this bitter trial,
01:24what was the gift in it? If you know that there's a gift and you start to search for the
01:27gift, you'll
01:28find it. So was it, was it something I was doing? Was it something they were doing? Was it a
01:33combination? Usually it's a combination when it's a relationship. If a job failed or you got let go
01:39from a job? Why? What happened? Okay. Learning how, if it's a job, learning how to understand that
01:48sometimes people lose their jobs, not because you didn't do something well, but because they had to
01:52cut down and that's nothing on you. So don't let that diminish your self-esteem. Let your self-esteem
01:59stay up and lifted. But if there is something that you know you could have done better. Okay. So take
02:04a look
02:04at that. And guess what? You will now have the opportunity in a new situation to do it differently,
02:10right? That's what the future is. It's a new opportunity to do something differently or to do
02:16something the same because you really realize that that is what you want. And that's who you are.
02:21And these are both important. And I know this might sound vague a bit, but I think what resonates with
02:28you is what's going to matter to you and work for you. So since these are for all of you,
02:32I share
02:33kind of a roundabout way. All right. Well, I hope that helps. And I hope you have a beautiful day.
02:39All right. Thank you guys. Take care. And thank you, Oscar Wilde.
