00:00Now we're joined by Michael and his fellow crew members, Laura Shepard-Churchley, Lane Bess,
00:04Cameron Bess, Evan Dick, and Dylan Taylor. Welcome to all of you. Great to see you guys.
00:09So Michael, I have to ask, how is your pre-flight routine different from your pre-game routine?
00:14Oh, you know what? Actually, I probably sleep a little bit better for the pre-flight routine,
00:18George, because, you know, it's different in sports and football, but you see we're in the
00:23training center right now. I'm here with my fellow astronauts, and we have been training
00:27so much, going through all the different protocols, all the different safety features that you feel
00:32very confident, and we all feel very confident, and we can perform any function that we may need
00:37if called upon, and just all the different things, getting in and out of the seat, all these things
00:41that I never knew you needed to know. You just think you kind of get in, strap up, go up,
00:46come down,
00:47but there's so much that you learn here, and it's just been fantastic. It puts you at ease,
00:51and I know we're all excited, and we bonded as a team here in Van Horn, Texas.
00:56Ah, that bond. I love it. Laura, let me ask you, of course we know Alan Shepard,
01:03your beloved father, his forever place in history. Laura, what do you think he would be
01:08saying to you right before liftoff? Well, he'd probably tell me that it was going to be a
01:14beautiful view, and that I needed to look at the view, as opposed to just doing somersaults
01:20in the weightlessness. But he would say, he would say, he would say to go for it, Laura.
01:28Laura, you have had the best answers. We've really enjoyed talking to you. You've had great,
01:33great answers. Now, we're talking about your, your dad there. Oh, just seeing your reaction is
01:40precious, but we have there with us too, Cameron and Lane. This is the first parent-child duo. It's
01:46going to be going to space. Now, how special of, of an experience is this for you all to be
01:51able
01:51to do it together? Well, I'm very proud to be able to do this with my son. It was a
01:56boyhood dream
01:57of mine. Cameron and I used to shoot model rockets when he was young, and to be able to do
02:03this real
02:04and do it together, you can't ask for more, to be able to be a father and child opportunity to
02:11go to
02:11space. I'm just happy he brought me along. You know, it's a great opportunity. I'll bet you are.
02:18So, Dylan, what was it like to put on the spacesuit for the first time?
02:22Oh, boy. You know, this is a lifelong dream for me, George. So, to actually go through the training
02:27and actually have a flight suit with my name on it and the mission patch, which I think you all
02:32have
02:32seen, which is brilliant. It's a dream come true. It really is. It's so great to see you guys all
02:37in
02:37those uniforms. It looks like a Marvel movie. We're ready. Hollywood, call us up.
02:42You got a crew right here ready to go. Well, we cannot wait, Michael. We are watching you.
02:49We are here for you. T-minus one day to go. Thank you all. And we're going to have live
02:53coverage
02:54of The Watch tomorrow morning starting at 9.30 Eastern.
