00:02Hello everyone, morning!
00:04No way!
00:06It's always good when Tessie doesn't tell you who you're going to meet there could be all sorts of expectations
00:10so I'm sorry if this is you know a little bit different to who you might be thinking you're going
00:14to see.
00:14We thought who better to talk to you about what they've been experiencing during this time
00:21but also a bit about their work as it's anti-bullying week.
00:24Obviously there's nothing that I can do to change my skin colour and knowing that there's people from the minute
00:32that I was born essentially
00:34hated me just for that reason makes you feel so powerless.
00:39When you're in that headspace you're constantly thinking I'm alone, I'm alone, no one else is here.
00:47About two years ago now I experienced cyberbullying.
00:51Yeah, there was every time my phone went off I think my heart skipped a beat a little bit just
00:56out of fear that another thing had been said.
00:59That's a lot for you to live with, you know, that stress, that anxiety, that pressure, that's horrible for you
01:04to have to live that so long like that.
01:05Now that we have the anti-bullying ambassador programme in school, it's really empowering and I think that there should
01:13be anti-bullying ambassadors in every school
01:15because if I could have had that peer-to-peer mentoring that now we can offer, my life would have
01:21been so, so different.
01:23It's really nice to have someone with a nice hand on your shoulder saying, I'm here, I understand.
01:28The way I dealt with it is that it motivated me to become an anti-bullying ambassador and really just
01:34to help people that are in that position.
01:37I can use my story to impact and influence others and I think that's what's so important, using our voices
01:44to spread awareness for anti-bullying.
01:46I think that's really vital.
01:48You're very true to the ambassadorial role that the Dyna Award wants to have and thank goodness for, you know,
01:53brilliant, young, bright and brave people like yourselves
01:58who are willing to stand up to injustice and racism and bullying that goes on.
02:03So, I applaud all of you, I really do.
