00:05I just thought, no, it's time I need to talk about this now.
00:08And I actually tentatively told my mum for the first time last week.
00:13So you went home from hospital.
00:16Yes.
00:18It affected your coordination, it affected your speech.
00:22It did.
00:23So you thought that you had permanent brain damage.
00:26I did. I was terrified.
00:27When you were discharged from hospital, you were back home,
00:30he didn't realise the damage he'd caused you, came round to your parents' house...
00:35Yes.
00:35..and opened the door and asked to see you, and your dad said no.
00:41And then what?
00:43My dad got...got punched.
00:47He punched your dad in the face and broke his nose.
00:50He smashed his... He busted his nose.
00:52Yeah.
00:52And that...
00:56Believe it or not, he'd actually been to visit once.
01:00I remember being on the sofa.
01:01I remember being very disorientated.
01:05And I remember him coming to see me the first time.
01:08My dad wasn't home then.
01:09And I just vaguely remember him being on.
01:11I think he was shocked by what happened.
01:13And then the second time he came.
01:17And, um...
01:18I was in my speech.
01:19I knew what I wanted to say, but I couldn't get the words...
01:21I couldn't get the right words out.
01:23I put my hand through a glass-panel door because my coordination,
01:27I didn't know, had to go back to hospital for stitches in my arm.
01:31And then it was only...
01:33And I started to feel pity for him.
01:35I was the one with the head injury lay there.
01:37And I was feeling...
01:39I felt pity.
01:40Okay?
