On the afternoon of October 21, 2009, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) spoke on the Senate floor about the Medicare "doc fix" bill. While speaking he made accusations that Republicans were blocking essential legislation yet it was the votes of 13 members of his own party that killed the legislation.
