00:01I don't think my relationship changed. I think it just, if possible, became even stronger
00:08when I had a child of my own. My mum said to me when I was pregnant with my first
00:12child
00:12that she just couldn't wait for me to feel the love that she's felt. I'm going to cry.
00:22God, I'm such a softy old. I honestly think becoming a mum, it's like no one can really
00:27prepare you for the emotion that you feel and the tiredness. It's quite overwhelming and
00:36being able to share that with my mum has been very special.
00:41I can't attach a value to the support of my own mum. I don't see her as much as I'd
00:48like.
00:48She still works full time and she lives an hour and a half away. My parents live north
00:53of me, but knowing that she's on the end of the phone at any time, she jumps in the
00:57car at the drop of a hat to see me if I need her support. Just having someone to talk
01:01to
01:01as a guide through what is such an emotional rollercoaster. I always feel like you're teetering
01:07on this brink of agony and ecstasy all the time as a mother because it's the biggest highs
01:13you ever have in your life and the most overwhelming sense of love and achievement and sense of accomplishment
01:19having a child. It's the hardest things as well because it's when you most question yourself.
01:23To have somebody there to be your rock is incredibly important and my mum is just that.
01:29I think the truth is when you become a mum everyone is very quick to try and give you
01:33advice. Part of the joy of it is finding out for yourself. Nothing prepares you for the love
01:42that you feel and nothing prepares you for this huge rollercoaster that you go on.
01:51So in a way I'm pleased that I didn't know more because it's just been the most incredible
01:56adventure and every day is this journey and I honestly get so excited for the mornings.
02:02I know I'm exhausted but just everyone piling into bed together in the mornings and the babies
02:07drink their milk and we just all have a cuddle. It's just, it's ecstasy. If you could bottle
02:12it and sell it you'd be a multi-millionaire.
02:14I think before you become a mum you think you know what true love is. You know you fall in
02:19and love your first boyfriend and then you love your parents, you love your friends, you
02:23love your husband and on occasions and then you have this little creature that you are responsible
02:30for and you've got to keep this little thing alive and there's no manual to do it. There's
02:37just you and you're like looking around going ultimate this little person is totally dependent
02:43on you and that relationship is like nothing else and it totally blows you away. So no one
02:50can tell you until you feel it and this is why I've just yeah I feel so lucky to have
02:55felt
02:55it and to continue to feel it.
