00:09When I was a kid, I do remember quite a lot of the holidays, you know, going to Madeira and
00:14Cyprus and having whole fish, you know, cooked in salt or roasted with all the herbs, never seen that before.
00:21We did actually go on cruises and it was brilliant, very different than now. It hasn't got all the mod
00:27cons and the extra stuff, but it was still loads of fun. Food was a massive deal.
00:31My parents were pretty influential in getting me to try lots of new things. I remember the first time I
00:36had a prawn cocktail when I was about nine years old and I'm like, oh, what is it? Oh my
00:41God, it tastes so good.
00:42I kind of always saw trying new things as a bit of a competition, you know, and see if I
00:48could kind of outdo my sister or outgross my dad.
00:51For me, the tips to having good fun with food and kids is just have a laugh. Make food, not
00:58fuel, like make time to sit down and enjoy.
01:01Like if there's someone in the family that's a bit boring and always has the same thing, that's cool. It's
01:06a holiday. Do what you want.
01:07But maybe get something for the middle of the table. Order a little something extra and then just pass it
01:12around.
01:12And you never know. You know, it's not about what do you not like. It's about what you could like.
01:17On Anthem of the Seas, we have a really dedicated team and they're always there.
01:23This is the newest ship. You're going to love it. The technology, the entertainment, how it looks, all the things
01:30they do.
01:30It is, I'm telling you, outrageous. We're making pasta every single day. Get the kids to come and have a
01:36look.
01:37Maybe get the kids to come and help take some of the pasta out or just see what they're going
01:41to eat for lunch.
01:42Everything that we do always comes with a chopped Shake Me Salad.
01:46Now, Shake Me Salad, this kind of sounds bonkers, but you have a jar with the salad in, right,
01:51and it has the dressing that's on it, a lovely balsamic dressing that the kids love.
01:54And then they have to shake it above their head like that.
01:56And it sounds like they wouldn't, but I tell you what, it gets kids involved.
01:59And guess what? They eat more salad. So that's really, really cool.
02:03I think the lovely thing about holidays, it's a bit new, new surroundings, new people, new smells, new food.
02:10So, you know, have fun with the food. Don't just stick to the normal stuff.
02:14Share it up. Have fun. Have a wonderful, wonderful holiday.
02:18And lots of love to you and the kids. Take care.
