00:00Hello there I'm Kathleen McGrath I'm an adult nurse registered and also a
00:04children's nurse but an expert in sleep disorders which is very very common here
00:09I'm just going to go through five top tips that might well help you to get a
00:14good night's sleep I think the first thing is to try and learn that sleep is
00:18a skill learn to do it well from an early age if you can get into a good
00:22sleep routine don't sleep in too hot a room and make sure the room is dark and
00:28comfortable also it's important to look at the kind of bed that you have and
00:32it's very important to look at your body temperature so beds that will actually
00:36maintain your temperature at a good level because body temperature really does
00:41affect your sleep and the final thing I think is to make sure that you don't eat
00:45too much before you go to bed and stay active because if you go to bed physically
00:50tired rather than mentally exhausted you'll probably be able to sleep a
00:55little bit better for information on getting a better night's sleep do visit
