Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton have announced the end of their 13-year relationship, bringing to an end one of Hollywood’s most famous partnerships.

00:00Helena Bonham Carter is split up with her long-time partner Tim Burton.
00:04Her spokeswoman said the couple had separated amicably earlier this year, but remained friends
00:08and continued to co-parent their children.
00:10They met on the set of Planet of the Apes in 2001, which Burton directed, and began
00:15their 13-year relationship soon after.
00:17They never married and famously lived in adjoining muse houses in North London, where they raised
00:22their children 11-year-old Billy and 7-year-old Nell.
00:25Often viewed as the film industry's most eclectic couple, Bonham Carter once described
00:29her living arrangements with Burton as nothing more interesting than two houses knocked together.
00:34But she also revealed their home's featured items including an oversized chair from the
00:38Charlie and the Chocolate Factory set, a baby door and a gypsy caravan.
00:43In 2012 both were given fellowships by the British Film Institute, which Bonham Carter
00:48joked was a good thing as there would be no jealousy between the two.
