00:44What was it like playing that character for you?
00:46It was lovely because it was really beautifully drawn.
00:48It was really well written and the love between himself and his daughters was blatantly obvious,
00:54as was his inability to get himself better.
00:57He was a very tragic character.
00:59I found him quite sad to play, but an honour.
01:01Can you tell us a little bit about working with Colin Farrell?
01:03Because you've got such a complicated and sweet relationship on the screen.
01:06Yes.
01:07It was really easy.
01:08He's such a generous and lovely guy that it was never an issue.
01:12We'd talk about the relationship and what we wanted out of it.
01:15There's one scene that we wanted in the film that's been cut,
01:18and it's just a scene of us actually being nice to each other.
01:19And I was like, no, keep it in.
01:23But no, he was a joy to work with.
01:24It was really easy.

02:23or, you know, the blankets in my bed.
02:25But if I didn't have Major Matt Mason when I was a kid,
02:29I don't think I would have the imagination that I have today.
02:32Just every day was a pleasure.
02:34It really was.
02:34I know that's a very boring answer,
02:35but it was a beautiful character and a beautiful script to work on.
02:38And we shot a film within the film, so they just spent two weeks,
02:41and they shot our stuff in chronology.
02:42And it was just a really sweet story to work on with so much heart.
02:45So, I don't know, working with the kids was pretty cool.
