01:50As many of you may not be knowing, spinal muscular atrophy is a rare neurogenetic, neuromuscular
01:56disorder which is a genetic thing and it affects the muscles, progressive weakening of the muscles.
02:05And, the children lose the ability to sit, stand, walk and all.
02:11So, this is a progressive and as they keep losing their power.
02:16The children, when I was diagnosed, when my son was diagnosed with SMA,
02:21there was hardly any awareness, no guidance, no community to turn to.
