On the morning of October 16, 2020, during a safari in Kanha National Park, we encountered an extraordinary wildlife event. At approximately 7:15 AM, the distinct alarm calls of a Langur monkey alerted us to the presence of a leopard nearby. As we searched for the source of the commotion, we spotted the leopard cautiously peeking out from behind a bush. Gaining confidence, she ventured onto the road, accompanied by her three tiny cubs. This remarkable sighting marked a highlight in my decade of jungle experiences. The family proceeded down the road for over 100 meters before disappearing back into the bush, while the monkeys continued their frantic warning calls, with one even breaking a branch in the process. The atmosphere was filled with the rapid clicks of cameras as our guests captured their first glimpse of a leopard in its natural habitat.
