They Planned This?
In 1962, at the height of the Cold War, the Pentagon’s Joint Chiefs of Staff drafted Operation Northwoods — a top-secret plan to stage fake terrorist attacks on American soil and blame them on Cuba.
The proposal included:
• Hijacking planes
• Blowing up a U.S. ship
• Staging attacks in U.S. cities
…all to create public support for invading Cuba.
President John F. Kennedy rejected the plan. It was never carried out.
The documents remained secret until they were declassified in the 1990s.
This is one of the darkest “what if” moments of the Cold War — a real government memo proposing false-flag attacks on its own citizens.
