00:39was that my name did i hear correctly i was kind of very shocked and stunned
00:51well i made my interview look and that was made from silk which is a natural fiber and it doesn't
00:57it doesn't pollute the environment because it decomposes so that's a sustainable material and
01:02i wanted to share that with the world as well as the swimsuit cape so i actually took some plastic
01:06bottles and plastic cups cut them up melted them painted them to make my wings on the back just
01:13because i wanted to show the world how you can get creative with objects that we may think are trash
01:18but actually make art and fashion from it
01:25i would say hardest part leading up to it is that self-doubt you know sometimes some days you're
01:30like wow this is miss universe this is a huge opportunity and there's a lot of pressure and
01:35i wanted to perform my best and some days i felt like i couldn't do it all or letting little
01:40things
01:40stress me out like where's the gown coming from when is it going to come in when is the costume
01:45going
01:45to come in and you kind of lose focus in those those times so i would always have to center
01:50myself and
01:51say i can do this i can do this believe in myself
02:00i would say they need to be their biggest cheerleader and they need to impress themselves when i was a
02:05little girl i was always looking around the room trying to impress the girl next to me or maybe the
02:10boy
02:10i had a crush on and i would try to do my hair a certain way to impress other people
02:14but
02:15i would tell a little girl you want to impress yourself you want to be your biggest cheerleader
02:19and do what makes you happy and you beautiful and nobody else
02:31well i feel very blessed i have a team doing my hair and makeup this media week i feel so
02:35spoiled but
02:36if i have to do it by myself about two and a half hours hair makeup getting dressed steaming everything
02:48well as of right now i know i'm going to indonesia in a couple weeks and then thailand hopefully work
02:54with the owner and more and get acquainted but as of right now i know that i'll be working with

03:00of the organizations that muo already works with whether that's smile train or best buddies but we're
03:06sitting down and putting together a really concrete uh plan for my year and i'm very excited about it
