00:02Oh, y'all felt that humidity?
00:04Yeah, I'm going to go back.
00:09You still have Louisiana.
00:10That's what it felt like.
00:12It was a little bit of that.
00:15How are you feeling physically a week into camp?
00:18Probably the same as everybody else.
00:21You know, you're just going.
00:22You're just finding ways to dig through.
00:24You keep building up your threshold.
00:27But, like I told you before,
00:29I kind of had two years off.
00:32And that time was spiritually, mentally,
00:35emotionally, physically, whatever it was.
00:36I got time to heal.
00:38So, I feel good.
00:41At the end of the day,
00:42there's no football shape until you get to week three, four.
00:47Everybody's tired after you run four plays in a row.
00:50So, just finding ways to stay on top of all the other things.
00:54Outside of that, take care of your body,
00:57rehab, prehab, those kind of things.
00:59And I feel good.
01:01After yesterday, it looked like you had pretty much your biggest workload so far in camp.
01:06And then with the first team along with Jackson.
01:10How much for you was it important to kind of stack today off of yesterday and to not slack?
01:15It's all in my room at the hotel.
01:18You know, there's absolutely nothing to do here.
01:20Beautiful place.
01:21But nothing to do here.
01:22And a quote that I kind of shared with the team was,
01:24yesterday's touchdown doesn't win you today's game.
01:27And I feel like I came out yesterday and I was like, I want to have my best day.
01:31And I feel like I had a good day, right?
01:34Some things to work on, to learn from, okay, to get better.
01:37And I was like, all right, I want to have an even better day tomorrow.
01:40And I feel like the whole team kind of is carrying that mentality.
01:43But personally, for me, it is just about stacking those days and just finding ways to build confidence,
01:49build confidence, you know, from within the team and myself included.
01:53Was it a challenge going through the first, let's say, like five days where there's just so many receivers,
01:58there's a lot of rotating, you don't get many reps, and then maybe you don't get a look?
02:02Like, what was that like kind of waiting for that day?
02:06It's definitely challenging.
02:08Being the competitor that I am, like, it's hard when you really love something.
02:13And you work really hard at it, and you want to perfect your craft,
02:16and then you feel like you don't get an opportunity.
02:18But it just comes with the territory of camp.
02:20You know, it almost is better because it's like, all right, we're spreading it out.
02:23And everybody's getting reps.
02:24Like, we're fresh, we're fresh, everybody's fresh.
02:28But at the end of the day, there's only one ball, and there's a bunch of playmakers on this offensive
02:32side.
02:32We got one of them who's still prepping to get back.
02:35Like, there's guys everywhere.
02:37So the ball's going to get shared.
02:39It's just like, do your job whenever you get the chance.
02:41What's this like for you?
02:42I'm sure you haven't been in the opportunity.
02:45You're in the position very often in your career where you have to produce to make the team.
02:49You know what I mean?
02:50Yeah.
02:50So what's that like to you?
02:52Do you put pressure on yourself?
02:54Do you think about that?
02:55I mean, I kind of like it.
02:57I mean, my boy texted me.
02:59He's like, this is where you thrive.
03:00Like, pressure.
03:00And I have pressure.
03:01I live for it.
03:02It's had it on my finger.
03:03And to me, I feel like if it's something that's not like, if we were just messing around,
03:08playing horse, and we're playing, and we're like, not playing for $100, like, I might lose.
03:12But you put the $100 on there, and then, well, hypothetically, you know what I'm saying?
03:17And, like, I want to step up, you know, to the bigger the moment.
03:21So I definitely put pressure on myself to make plays.
03:26And this is the conversation I had with Coach before I ever came here.
03:30Like, he's like, you know, I got a really good relationship with you.
03:32I don't want to, you come here, and then something happens, and you can't make the team.
03:36I'm like, I can live with me getting up, leaving my home, coming here, and giving my best effort.
03:43And if it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out.
03:45I couldn't live with me feeling like I gave up on myself, and I never seen through my dream
03:51that I've been chasing since I was four years old.
03:53Like, I just couldn't live with that.
03:55So it is what it is.
03:57I'm all for a competition.
03:58I've always been like that.
04:00I feel like I rise to the occasion.
04:01And right now I'm just trying to stay in the bag, you know what I mean?
04:06I'm trying to get better each and every day, know exactly what I got to do, get open,
04:10catch the ball, score, like, get back to the game that I truly love.
04:16And I'm just grateful for that opportunity.
04:18I feel like you've gotten there more in the last couple days.
04:20Yeah.
04:20The results say, I mean, I'm not sure if you say, well, I've played the same way,
04:24the first X number of days.
04:25It won't just come to me, or are you playing?
04:27Do you feel like you're playing better?
04:30I feel like I'm getting better.
04:31I feel like, you know, with repetition, with mistakes, unfortunately I'm one of those people
04:37who has to touch the stove to know that it's hot and to not touch it again.
04:40So I learned from a mistake and it's like, all right, that's something that I corrected.
04:43So I definitely feel like I'm getting better.
04:45There definitely has been more opportunities.
04:48It's just a combination of both, but kind of just fizzle all that out.
04:52And I'm just like, I'm just locked in the moment.
04:53I'm truly grateful for being where my feet are at and just trying to enjoy that each
04:59and every day and bring the best energy that I can.
05:02So many people talk about wanting to prove things to others.
05:12I feel like if this comes off selfish, I sound sorry, but this is like, this is for me.
05:18This is the proof to myself, you know?
05:21It's never really been proved to others, but it's always fun when you can't prove it to others.
05:25But this is for me.
05:26This is for my son.
05:27This is like, in our household, like we never give up.
05:30You know what I'm saying?
05:31Like, no matter what it is, like, you're going to finish what you started.
05:35And that's kind of all this is to me, you know?
05:37I take it as if God's giving me one year, then it is what it is.
05:41But who knows, you know, what it's going to be.
05:43I'm just trying to be present each and every day and prove to myself that I am who I know
05:48I am.
05:49You know, it's not everybody likes to talk about the old, is he going to be this, that?
05:52And I'm like, you know, LeBron James used to take off before the free throw line.
05:56And now if he's taking off with his foot right in front of it,
05:59he's still got a different game, but he's still playing at a high level.
06:03I believe that I can play at a high level.
06:04You know, people like to talk about the stats and all these things.
06:07And I'm like, you know, last time I played at the Ravens,
06:09I had 35 catches and 600-plus yards and four touchdowns.
06:13If you double that at 70 catches, 1200 yards and eight, it's a great season.
06:18So it's about how many opportunities you get.
06:20Knowing that I may not be getting 10, 12 targets, like,
06:23what am I going to do with the five or six that I get?
06:26Like, how can I help, you know, all the other receivers and the running backs?
06:31And how can I help this team?
06:32What can I bring?
06:33So I'm not so much caught up in what numbers are going to be.
06:37Like, I just want to be the best me that I can be.
06:39I want to get over and create separation, catch the ball, hopefully score a lot.
06:43And have fun.
06:45Like, that's really all it is for me.
06:46What kind of juice do you still get when the crowd goes wild when you touch the ball?
06:52A lot of juice.
06:53It's a lot of love.
06:56You know, we've had this conversation before.
06:57Like, most people don't get a chance to, like, double back.
07:02And, you know, this is a place that made me into a man, like, made me into who I am.
07:07Like, I have so much love for this organization, this city.
07:11I got New York tatted on my back.
07:13You know what I mean?
07:14I'm from New Orleans.
07:15So all I ever wanted to do was win a championship for the New York Giants
07:20and just have an opportunity right now to, you know, the end goal in mind, but stack those days.
07:25That's all I want to do for this city.
07:27This organization is bring one home.
07:29Thanks.
07:31I appreciate it.
