00:00As Gulf states work to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and prevent further escalation, Qatar
00:04says the whole region is working towards mediation between the United States and Iran, with language
00:09for a possible agreement now circulating between both sides.
00:13Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson Dr. Majid Al Ansari said Qatar, Oman and Pakistan
00:18were coordinating their mediation efforts.
00:20They are seeking a short-term agreement that could revive talks and pave the way for a
00:24broader diplomatic settlement.
00:26The push comes amid conflicting accounts from Washington and Tehran.
00:30U.S. President Donald Trump says talks have resumed, while Iran says it is only speaking
00:34with Oman.
00:35Qatar says no direct talks are currently scheduled.
00:38We can confirm that the efforts are still ongoing with all the parties who are looking
00:44towards a diplomatic resolution as we are speaking right now.
00:47As you know, there are current efforts on the ground that are in very progressive stages.
00:54Anybody who's working on the negotiation process in any mediation knows that the tool of the
00:59trade is these drafts that keep being circulated.
01:03So I won't comment on specific drafts, but I can tell you that language has been drafted
01:08on a possible agreement and is being circulated between the parties.
01:12Our focus right now is on resuming freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
01:18We cannot accept any change to the status quo there.
01:22It has to be done in a way that would guarantee that the strait would never be used again as
01:27a tool of political extortion or diplomatic extortion or as leverage against any regional
01:35or international players.
01:36On Gaza, Qatar blamed Israel for delaying the peace plan and called for its withdrawal from
01:41the territory.
01:42Dr. Al Ansari said the Palestinian side had met its commitments and Israel was expected
01:47to do the same.
01:48On Hamas' side and the Palestinian side, we have seen adherence to everything that was
01:52agreed on on the roadmap.
01:53The expectation is that Israel would do the same and we employ the international community
01:59to put the right pressure on Israel to implement the plan.
02:03We think Israel should withdraw from all lands that it occupies and adherence to international
02:07laws.
02:08Qatar says the latest Israeli strikes are an attempt to derail the Gaza plan as its mediation efforts
02:13on both conflicts continue.
