00:20The flare-up began on Thursday, when a cargo ship transiting the Strait of Hormuz was struck by an Iranian

00:27In the days that followed, the United States carried out multiple rounds of strikes against Iranian military infrastructure,
00:34while Iran launched drone and missile attacks targeting both Bahrain and Kuwait.
00:39The focus now returns to the future of the Strait of Hormuz,
00:43with Iran insisting it should control navigation through the waterway,
00:46while the United States and its allies continue to push for free and safe passage
00:52through one of the world's most strategically important shipping lanes.
